i've had a think about it, and what joe kelly has done with "pulling the deal from the table" is a good move, high risk, but they really don't have much to lose.
If they dont have much to lose how is it high risk?

FMD you are an imbecile. if a club is good enough to be ultra competitive for 10 consecutive seasons than good luck to them. I am not sure what point you are trying to make above, are you suggesting the likes of souffs should get more leg ups than they already do from the NRL to be perpetually competitive because you think they are the most popular sporting club in the universe?
not much to lose in that i think they're odds on to lose both players anyway, high risk in that by ostricising them it could make them choose to stay but if it doesn't work, they'll damage team cohesion even further. it's a desperate ploy
It's not really a good move when you consider they had DCE all but signed only for new management to f**k it all up.i've had a think about it, and what joe kelly has done with "pulling the deal from the table" is a good move, high risk, but they really don't have much to lose.
Mick Ennis was giving it to them the other night about having them both off contract at the same time, I dont know the details their last contracts etc but I gotta agree, pretty poor management to allow the possibility of losing them both in the same year.
Disagree.
With both coming off at the same time, they could pick which would be the better deal/player; whereas if they came off contract at the same time, they have no option.
I suppose losing both of them could be possible, but seriously doubtful.
I do find it funny that he was all ready to sign before Christmas and when management changed they "didn't know" about the contract offer that was going to be signed ( yeah right like they wouldn't have known ) and now they expected him to meet a deadline on a less offer ( lets face it, if it was the same he would have signed by now ) after f**king him around, but it's all DCE fault. Poor negotiating tactics by Manly that look set to backfire, especially if they lose both players. I wonder if they'll be stupid enough to try the same tactic with Foran.
Manly has had an incredible 10 consecutive seasons in the 8. 2 premierships. They've had an unparalled run in the salary cap era.
But what does their success do for the game? If a team is going to be that good that long in Sydney it shouldbe Souths or Dogs or Eels or Tigers or Dragons. These teams doing well raise the overall NRL attendance averages and ratings.
We need every team being competitive. But if a team is going to be dominant, some teams are better than others for the NRL.
:lol::lol::lol:
FMD. New levels of stupid on a daily basis.
F*ck your "gee Souffs or Dogs etc should be successful before another club"
How about they get their shit together? You don't "deserve" success because your inbred, buck toothed supporters turn up to watch them lose on a regular basis.
Manly deserve success just the same as the other 15 clubs do. They've done it better than anyone else for the past decade so kudos to them. Clearly it has been effective with other clubs now trying to buy our culture.

Getting to the stage NB where Manly will be better off without DCE just as Parra is better off without Hayne, high maintenance is depressing . . . losing Foran is another thing altogether
I think he has gone too far down the road he is travelling to ever be accepted into the fold at Manly again. Of course that is from the outside looking in but it sure seems that it's reached that point.
Foran is on a knife's edge. Could go either way.....
I love this free trade stuff where blokes are jumping ship 12 months in advance!
Even if there is only a window available, it will just take talks into the black market, people will merely become clandestine and wait for the window to open. As I've said before, the great coaches will bench deserters, how good a coach does Mary think he is . . . love to see Merrin get fat sitting on the splinters
