Manly in the gong.

We had a Nice win round 1, after a good trial v tigers, and a decent def 1st half v south’s (before we replaced the top team). Everyone got so excited and it was all setup for failure, which we got v the fins. Cows game had the same issues with defence, which was at ods with pre fins game.

clearly we have got a way to go. But the positives are better than last year, and I have faith. Like others, I think I just got my hopes up after round 1, that this could be a faster turnaround… now I’m back to wanting positive progress and development.

Manly plays an expansive attack and a condensed defence.

Neither of those things are good for us. Our backs will be stretched for lack of pace, and our ball players aren’t good at floating the long pass against a jamming defence.

Could be a long day for us. At least we’ll get to watch Turbo and see what a truly great player looks like.

also very nervous about this one with the style Manly play as you point out. If Flanno persists with Bird in the centres I am also not looking forward to seeing him up against a speedster like Koula & Garrick for that matter. Could get very ugly !

From the way they've been talking about him and the fact that it's a hamstring, I suspect he's re-injured it and is probably still out.

Even if he is fit and does play, he hasn't played a game for 7 months! I wouldn't pin my hopes on him being much use in his first game back.
Yes this unfortunately my view also, even if he is named.. his fitness and probably his speed is going to be down for a few weeks.. so hes not going to be our best prop.. that said he should be a big upgrade over a MMolo or Fifita on the bench... I am very scared about re-injury though..

I think Sele has to gradually be brought into the game and training as hard as he possibly can and play only bits of time in the reserves to get some match fitness. If he hasn't played a game in 7 months then that is ridiculous. Why in hell did we even bother signing him. If he has re-injured his hamstring he will be out at least another 5-6 weeks.

Yeah. When they say "he'll be out 4 weeks with a hamstring injury" and it's been 4 weeks, there's nothing to worry about. But when they say "back next week" every week for 4 weeks in a row, it usually means it's been re-aggravated.

No players dropped. There are clearly no consequences for not having a go. Flanno must just be hoping that some of these players will turn into high energy players by magic. It doesn't happen that way.

I like the lineup except I’d start De Belin at Lock, Fifita on the bench, Eisenhuth dropped, Bird either dropped or bench, Lomax to centre and Finau on the wing for more speed in the backline. Good to see Liddle, Sua, F. Molo and Sele all back
I think DeBelin coming off the bench is a ploy to stop their forwards rolling over our forwards after 20 minutes. Just like what happened in the past 2 games. Therefore, bring on our best tackler after the rot kicks in

The problem is who would you replace them with they are all much of a much.
We all got hoodwinked by the Titans win whom we’ve now found out are worse than us
