Manly - Is there anything to like?

I try and stick up for Manly but its hard to find many appealing things about the Sea Eagles.

Maybe the halfback and they play hard footy, which is obvioulsy something but really.............

They aren't the media's bitches. I love their 'Go F**k Yourself' approach. God knows Sharks fans wish their club had that attitude, they'd probably still have Seymour & Bird now.

They play good entertaining footy.

Parra and souffs fans hate them, so they must be doing something right.

They, with the mighty Roosters, saved Australia from Super League while your scum clubs deserted.

Likeable players:
Hoppa Jnr, DCE, Balin, Robertson, Tony Williams and the Wolfman.
There's a few good people in their fan base too.

Footy wise, they play a tough relentless and ruthless brand of footy, and you can deny Hasler's merit as a coach. Such a pity he's the greatest sook on the face of the planet.

Nothing else to like, especially not the whingeing culture so entrenched in that club...

In other news if you backed Manly to cover all their points starts on the TAB in 2011, out of 26 games played to date you would have only lost on 7 of them. No other team is within 3 results of that figure. It goes to show that punters and the people in the know keep under rating the Sea Eagles.

There's a few things to like about Manly:

- The pepper steak pies from the pie shop on the Corso
- Sitting on the grass and drinking a few beers while watching the sun set over the harbour
- Beach fishing, rock fishing, spear fishing
- Weekends on the beach watching the girls of summer frolic in the waves
- A couple of good reef breaks and a decent beach break, albeit crowded
- Good pubs
- A successful local footy team who play out of a great atmospheric ground (imho) just down
the road

Some of you should come down early next season and enjoy all of the above!

Up until round 25 it was only a lot of their fans that really irked me.

I'm glad they knocked out the Broncos though, Broncos fans were getting far too cocky and annoying and the Lockyer circle jerk was the worst.

Bit funny considering their current squad too. They have bought most of them.

They have hardly opened a cheque book and signed marquee players that other clubs wanted to keep. The only ones in the squad in that category would be Kite, T-Rex, and arguably Lyon I suppose. Everyone else are other clubs discards or young players brought through the ranks playing their first 1st grade games there.
