But they do have a host of young talent in those areas coming through. Even if Graham goes the way its expected and ends up to big for the halves (i actually think he'll be about perfect size for a really good Laurie Daley style 5/8th myself)
Now lets say they sign todd carney for 400k a year. That's a long term investment, they arnt signing him to play out a few years and piss off, he's not a stop gap. They want him there for good.
If you're one of these younger blokes coming through, and you see the club go gang ho for TC. Then have a peak around the club and see 2-3 other good young halves in at the club. Would you be thinking a better career move might to go a club where theres not so much competition for spots and/or a club with halves on the way out rather then on the way in?
Makes sense to me... I honestly think penrith signing TC is a bad move all around. They will most certainly (imo anyways) lose some talent because of his signing (both positionally and monetarily its a big signing). And i think for a bloke, and ill try and be polite here, with the limited brain capacity of TC, will very easily get caught up in the bright lights of sydney and sooner or latter, find himself in some trouble.
