um i think it is $11 million Aussie dollars, not pounds

he isn't worth that much

i also think it would be tops for aussie soccer

is it just me or has viduka been looking really unfit recently? i don't know what's going on at leeds but he looked slow, fat and verrrry knackered/lethargic against charlton from what i saw of the highlights. can't see him staying at leeds for much longer. the question is will he leave in january or end of the season?

I was at Charlton and he gave his best display of the season, him and Smith won us the game with their workrate up front.

Until the transfer windows closed, Man Utd will be linked with out about 50 players....quite funny really.

They do need a striker though. I also heard them linked with Anelka, which wont happen, but it would be great...if his attitude was a bit better. Great player though.

Talk about an attitude, Anelka is the Van Hoijdonk of his age. Fergie wouldn't contemplate signing him...

I'm not sure whether Viduka will leave in January or at season's end - but he will be leaving. The transfer market has dies in the arse, perhaps we'll get 3 million (Sterling) for him??

Cheers,
Ben S.

£5m is the fee being reported.

I really don't know whether I would want him or not. The big question in my mind is how would he work with Ruud? They are very similar type of players, although Viduka is more physical and RVN is...well, just better.

Would Viduka be willing to sit on the bench a lot? There's really only one spot open in the Man Utd full strength team, and it alread has Solskjaer, Ronaldo, Fletcher and Kleberson competing for it.

But for only £5m, I would think it would be worth a shot. He would certainly be good cover for Ruud, no matter what else.

that's why man u need viduka! i would be damn worried if i was a man u supporter knowing "Solskjaer, Ronaldo, Fletcher and Kleberson" were competing for a striker role in the FULL-STRENGTH team

with chelsea becoming a force, man u can't afford to be complacent. the team is definately not good enough to win the champions league, and without another quality striker it's going to make the task of winning the epl so much harder for them

The problem is we only play with one striker, which is of course Ruud. Then Giggs, Scholes and one of those players I mentioned before play in between him and our defensive midfielders in Keane and Phil Neville.

So how does Viduka fit in? If we played with 2 strikers then certainly, he would compete with Solskjaer to partner Ruud. But we don't. That's why I think if we buy a striker, it'll be someone who can drop back a fair bit and be the link-man between Ruud and the midfield. Like a Raul or Mutu.

Mark Viduka is no match for Ruud Van Nistelrooy's style of play.

Manchester United needs a link man, not another hitman! Whilst by all accounts I'm sure Viduka would make some form of an impact at Manchester United, I wouldn't imagine him to be the number one target in the EPL, let alone in Europe altogether.

If I were in Fergie's shoes, my number one target would be our (Chelsea's) Eidur Gudjhonson.

as i say i only saw it on "the premiership" and well, their coverage isn't exactly brilliant (no i won't blame it on my poor judgement and the several cans of beer ;-) )

bring back motd :D

I think Fergie will set his sights on Viduka and he will give Man U the added firepower they need. Also think he could play together with Vanman because their styles do differ.

Yep, I'd take Gudjhonson over Viduka. Although I'm not sure how he would do if put up front by himself. And in my opinion, that's what we need. Someone who is great at the link-man role, but who can also go up front and give Ruud a rest.

Eidur has resigned for Chelski.

Jimmy Gloyd Hasslebaink or Mikael Forrsell will probaly leave as there may not be a spot for them.

But there isnt really a spot for him.

Also they are looking at signing 20yr old Brazlian striker Nilmar whose club is similar to the Serie A club you and I support.

I know who id want to sign... Van der Vaart. He is bloody awesome and only 19 or so. I saw a goal he scored against Feyenoord on the weekend and it is one of the best individual goals i have seen in a while. Go on Fergie...sign him!
