Truth be known, it is pathetic and selfish to put someone through that for when it comes to marriage proposal. Why not do it over a romantic dinner or something?

How narcissistic would you have to be to propose in public?

I think proposals are and should be a thing of the past anyway. Most engaged couples I know simply discussed marriage first, came to an an agreement and sometime down the track the "proposal" was more a case of "hey here's your ring, stupid question I guess, but will you marry me?"

I agree. I changed channel just seconds into when it became obvious what he was about to do... too cringeworthy. Not just narcissistic, but cliched nowadays as well
