good on matai and the sea eagles - even if we can only get him for one test - that decision to delay surgery will leave him in good stead in the future.

What about Chase Stanley - heard he had some shoulder problems at the end of the season.

If luke is out for the tour - then Rangi Chase must a cert. to go on tour considering he can cover 6,7 and 9.

Far out - there have been a sh*te load of injuries in the NRL this year particulary to the potential kiwis.:(

Hope that report is correct, and don't think Manly will stop him, but if he has surgery it would be on the bulging disc in his neck, not shoulder, so don't know how accurate this report is

Manly are now ruling him out, in need of surgery and a 3-4 month recovery.

Understand the clubs point on this, Peter Peters was on the news tonight and made sense, and i think if it was a smaller recovery window, he would be playing, but is still disappointing to lose another player

Someone who went to the sydney maori tournament - stress fracture in his back - not sure.
Perhaps explain why he didnt play for Norths b'coz im sure he playe enoughd PL games to qualify for GF.

Who knows how serious or accurate it is? he is a tough bugger so who knows.

Which could be a game or so next year...

Even if his recovery took nearly 5 months he would still be back in time for season start. Surely they can delay surgery by ONE week.

Seems like he'll be marking up against Israel Folau again next sunday, as hes been brought in to replace an injured Justin Hodges.

Hopefully Matai makes it through their trainings injury free.

I've been hearing word this afternoon that matai has been ruled out and that he will be having shoulder surgery before the Australia v NZ test.
