wow, huge call. We will miss Lino goal kicking.

Herman starting is a sign of a massive first 20 min from the team.....blast them off the park strategy.

Throughout the year it’s been noticeable in the first few sets if we are switched on, so let’s see how we go early on.

It looks very warm out there. Fitness will be tested and that makes me weary of Damien Cook having a huge game.

Big test of AOB's credentials today. I will be very interested to see how he has prepared us for the biggest game of the season. Last week is forgotten if we bring the right attitude and play to the best of our ability in this match. I won't even necessarily be disappointed if we lose, as long as give it a serious crack and don't turn up with one of our meek, borderline pathetic performances.

In terms of team selection, I don't hate it. Mann is not the long term answer in the halves but in finals footy it's probably the right call. We know he can do the job defensively, we know he'll give 100% for 80 minutes and scrap for everything. And Hoy will get a chance to spark us at some point. The downsides obviously more pressure on Pearce (not good) to control the game and kick well, plus the lack of quality ball for Best. But even so I think our best chance today involves this spine clicking, with Randall's superior service out of dummy half a big plus. Whether they're good enough to execute is another story.

Also this could definitely be a case of you can't win the game in the first 15 minutes, but you can certainly lose it. We are capable of a shocking start, filled with errors, lack of commitment / intensity, and generally poor attitude. If that happens today and we go down 12-0 early, it's over. Absolutely critical we stay in the game early on.
