Meaney may get a go at the back? I'd be keen for that.

Or Elliot. He played a few minutes at fullback in the trial.

That said, in pre season all we heard was that it's shootout between Phythian and Pete. I don't like it, but it seems like that is Brown's Plan B. Could change his mind of course.

I feel like Pete will just be so uninspiring. I'd rather gamble on anyone with some skills. But really, I just wish Phythian wasn't so unlucky. Poor guy.

No chance Meaney is going to go to fullback. Pete is next in line that has been made clear in pre season.

Brown isn't going to have talked about the race for fullback and how it came down to Pythian or Pete, then 1st game Pythian is injured and he puts Meaney there. Nope.

It will be Pete to FB and Elliot to Centre. No other changes to next weeks lineup.

Honestly, how does Gagai get selected for Origin?

In his defence, he pretty much got zero ball, no early ball, and didn't have a great deal of opportunity to do a lot today.

We were either very flat in attack or the Warriors line speed was very quick for most of the game or the 10 became very short for them as the game wore on because the halves had little time with the ball in hand before being hit.

Maybe it was a little of all that?

In attack we went to the left side often, he didn't get much attack chances. I'm referring to his defence. Though I guess in Origin he is picked on the wing which is where he should be for us.

1.Dylan Pythian (5/10) The best kicker in the side by a country mile. Did some good things in attack and defence also dropped an absolute sitter 20ms out from their try line. The best player we've had in the no. 1 jersey since captain derp went to ESL. Would have given him higher points had he not got injured.
2.Nathan Ross (8.5/10) Our best back and draws with Barnett to be our best. Strong carriers, safe in D and under the high ball. Should Take Dane's centre position if things don't change.
3.Dane Gagai (2/10) Honestly hard to give him a point let alone 2 then I remembered his tackle on Mannering which caused a turnover. Tried way too hard to make something out of absolutely nothing causing him to throw dumb passes. Everything he touched turned to shit.
4.Pete Mata'utia (5/10) Did some good things, some good runs, showed great enthusiasm and spirit for his try. Also made some f**king awful decisions in defence.
5.Ken Sio (6.5/10) Thought he was great for his first game back in the NRL. Nothing spectacular but safe.
6.Brock Lamb (3/10) Did well defensively for the first 20 mins of the game. After that he was abysmal. Showed absolutely nothing in attack and got worse and worse defensively as the game went on.
7.Trent Hodkinson (3/10) Passenger. He kicked the ball twice (?) three times tops.
8.Daniel Saifiti (6/10) Not his best game but we functioned best with him on the field. A bit of match fitness and he and Jacob could be anything.
9.Danny Levi (7.5) Very good. In for a big year. Still needs to work on his wrestle a bit. Had difficulty getting players off their feet a few times.
10.Josh Starling (6/10) Good solid player. I'd prefer to be in a position where he was coming off the bench. Didn't miss a tackle. Solid signing.
11.Sione Mata'utia (6/10) Still adjusting to the backrow. Overall was pretty good though.
12.Jamie Buhrer (6.5) Did some great stuff in defence. I'd have given him a 7 had he not stood and watched while Lamb was trampled for the Hoffman try.
13.Mitch Barnett (9.5) Close to the best player on the field. 135 metres, 49 tackles with 0 missed, 1 try assist.

14.Luke Yates (8/10) Great on debut. Has a big first grade career ahead of him.
15.Jack Stockwell (6/10) Looked a little bit off the pace at times. Overall he was fairly solid though.
16.Sam Stone (3/10) Looked like a child playing with men. He is incredibly underdone. He may have a very long and successful first grade career but f**k me he looks like a stick insect at the moment. Needs to gain at least 10kgs
17.Jacob Saifiti (6.5) Hard to seperate Jacob and Daniel. I think he outplayed Daniel today though coming up with 0 missed tackles and less metres overall but more metres per run.

Side vs. Titans

1.Pete Mata'utia
2.Jacob Gagan

Elliot will be the man to come in.

Honestly don't think anyone from our ISP side can lay a claim to come in for next week after their effort today. Side will be the same with Elliot being the only change.

Let us not forget, Brendan Elliott is horrific. It will be a parade to the tryline down that side if he is in.

Other opinions may be different, but I thought Danny Levi was excellent today. His speed and run in attack was first rate. Hope he keeps it up.

Barnett and Nathan Ross our best.

Thought that Elliot was solid in the trials.

I don't think Elliot is that bad, he's no world beater but he scored some neat tries last year and can throw an offload or two and supports the play well. Biggest issue is his lack of size and he's not very physical so gets monstered in the tackle a bit.

And that's where we're at. Our best option is a weak guy who at best is solid and performed well in trial matches.

I'm not suggesting I have a better solution, it just sucks that is our situation.

Elliott was a Chernobyl-level dumpster fire at centre last year. He did OK on the wing though, Hopefully Ross moves in.
