WA, I have an old mate who is a tragic for all things Balmain but in particular, junior reps and he does have an eye for talent. (Guys who ever go to the reserve or junior rep games will see the old guys in the west tiger jackets, they love the club). Anyway, he laughs every time AD gets picked at fullback, he says that he, AD, never rated and it is why such a very good coach was happy to release him (that would be Bennett), to try his lunch elsewhere.

I just searched for Tigers rep teams (16’s) and found 2014 finals team. Fullback, as we all know had to leave, other guy we all know, played in back row. You have to look down the list to see the last listed reserve.

1. Ryan Papenhuyzen
2. Zac Ryan
3. Angelo Panamabalana
4. Tyrelle Maui
5. Abdalla Matar
6. Nicholas Wilkinson
7. Adam Rizk
8. Richard Amone
9. Mitchell Hyde
10. Harrison Leonard
11. Moses Suli
12. Patrick Abouharb
13. Lachlan Attwood (c)

Interchange
14. Spike Teio
15. Eddie Abraham
16. Will Lawson
17. Luke Hodge
18. Nathan Khalil
19. Zac Allen
20. John Paul Hannawe
21. Kobe Thorson
22. Bradley Booby
23. Sam Doloras
24. Justin Frain
25. Adam Doueihi
Madge needs to get amongst those old guys for advice, seriously . I do remember just before we signed AD there was a pause where AD started querying why we had changed our mind etc ..

There’s no clear shot of where AD was just prior to that tackle but one has to wonder where he was ..prob somewhere on the right side guarding the touch line for possible 40/20??
Iether way as soon as he realised there was even the slightest chance it could be one on one he should have run sideways or even backwards first to get in front of RCG to negate the minimal sidestep (it was just an acceleration really) that in the end beat him...I’m guessing but I think instead he may have ran forward toward what he thought would be assisting with the tackle giving RCG more angle to play with..
Either way AD seemed to have plenty of time to decide what to do therefore I was fully expecting him to either stop that run or be run over

Just checked ..It was a small step from RCG ..if AD has an aversion to tackling and getting in front of forwards head on and he thinks he’s better to position himself for a side on tackle when a front on can be achieved - coz that’s what it looked like having double checked - then that’s not good..Fullbacks have massive pride in those tackles when it’s them then the try line. Seldom do they miss if in position.. ..AD’s tackle wasn’t even close. He needs to hit the weights instead of looking for short cuts
I hope I just misread the whole thing coz that was a critical stop
