I left the gym at 6:30pm, the eastern stand was still pretty empty, i said to the wife, It's a nice night, let's grab a ticket. Decided to get dinner and watch at home. Should have stayed.

What a game.

As is typical for the Knights, the only teams that get any benefit for foul play on our players are their next opponents.

I think the call on the night was BS (Cummins quote 'we have no problem with the tackle..."), especially after the next penalty against the Knights was for a BS call on a player who had slipped below waist height running back from a kick before contact was made - but that warranted a penalty?! WTF?!.

I am also significantly p!$$ed that JWH was not cited for the clear 'choke' he placed on Ponga for about 4-5 seconds in the first half whilst looking at the referee to see how long he could get away with it...I almost thought was watching bloody WWE the way that played out.

They want to hold up players like Ponga as a shining example of what is good and skillful about our game and then fail to really come down on those merkins who clearly have only one intent, to intentionally take those players out by any means necessary, usually illegally and cheaply - him and players like Adam Blair should be drummed out of our game

Agreed there is a difference between playing hard and playing foul. JWH has always fallen into the foul category.

I'd say this for any player, not just a Knights player. If that thug continues to get away with his filthy tactics, one day a player is going to end up with a really serious injury.

I've already seen one promising player in my lifetime end up in a wheelchair because of this game, which is one too many. I don't want to see another, and if I did, I would question my ongoing commitment to rugby league. Because the game isn't worth seeing a young bloke's life end up being ruined. And I don't buy into the crap some people say about "it's a hard man's game. The players understand the risk."

The game shouldn't be about winning at all costs. Some costs are too great, and sadly some players care more about a win than they do about the other blokes out on the field with them.

If Dsaf had of made the exact same tackle on Cronk he would have been straight off.

If Ponga had of taken the quick tap for a try instead of Tedesco it would have been recalled to take the tap correctly on the mark.

This is just what more unfancies teams face against the favorites. It fits the narrative and how the outcome is supposed to be.

Say hello to Graig "crusher, chickwing, leg twist " Bellamy, held aloft as the "super coach". Not so surprising the injury you mention was against the Storm....I cant stand that type of play.

And yet other team's fans lately have been saying a successful Newcastle team is good for the game overall. Go figure.

Don't want to sound like a prick but we gotta stop whigning. If the best teams get calls then we just need to be one of those best teams. We clearly are working our way up there. In any sport luck plays a big role in deciding the eventual winners and the better we are as a team, the luckier we will get with those calls to.

Not saying we need to play like grubs. Quite the opposite. Play well play hard and those calls will come to us more often than not.

that's it. Favorites will always get the 50/50 calls regardless of who it is.

Pearce blatantly knocked the ball on against bulldogs and we score two plays later to seal the game.

The shit calls have been everywhere this year. I can’t remember exact plays, but I can certainly remember several try/ no try rulings and thinking that we were very lucky to get the call.
