Doing nothing with all the ball we had in the first half killed us in the end

The roosters bs try call at the end was just the final nail in the coffin

Hastings looked like Tedesco in Origin. Thinks he's still fast, hogged the ball and generally got in the way. He offers a slight point of difference but God, he's barely an upgrade on Cogger.

How tf has the club managed to get 2 of the worst halves you'll ever see play, on the books at the same bloody time?

Good effort from the boys. Next man up mentality on show today. Can't ask for more to be fair. McEwen should slot in nicely for KPP. Lucas brilliant as always. Crossland at 13 might be something.

Not too disappointed because (everyone here probably feels the same) we all saw it coming. We can't score. Why didn't we attack kicks again until we were behind on the scoreboard again? Scoring a try off a kick is worth 4 points regardless of which team is winning! If we had gone 14 points up, I have no doubt we win without conceding today. Our defense was top notch again. Two freakish tries to concede off some Teddy brilliance.

Happy to see oh young lads play well but unhappy with our lack of attack again.

Not gonna blame tonight result on the refs. There were a few bad calls I think they got wrong, the try not being one of them (100% it would’ve been a penalty try anyway).
We were given so many opportunities to score and we couldn’t take advantage.
Proud of the effort but it doesn’t help our season.

Geez they shut down Gagai tonight.
He was monstered by Tupou and Smith.

We lost that game going away from what worked in the first half. We were moving the ball around on their line, in the second half we just went back to our one out, barge-over rubbish like we were trying to protect a 6 - 0 lead.

Brailey and Hastings were complete garbage, I'll put the loss on their selfish play.

Considering I thought it would be 50-0 walked out not unhappy.
They were the biggest culprits for the hero plays. We looked better in the first half putting actual shifts on.

We've barely seen it in action (in fact I can't remember a single other instance) but they changed a rule interpretation in 2023:

AMENDMENTS FOR THE 2023 SEASON

Grounding the Ball

Tries will now be awarded if the ball rotates from the hand to the wrist or forearm provided there is no obvious separation between the ball and the hand or arm. The new interpretation will allow further clarity for officials when adjudicating grounding.

As long as there was no separation it's a try.

Gutting loss, but I also expected we’d get flogged due to the gap between the teams so I can’t be too mad at them.

It still feels shit though, sometimes being flogged feels better.

With our attack being so bad to begin with we were always going to struggle with our best attacking players out. Hopefully this shuts up the people who think Hastings not being picked is some kind of conspiracy. He’s just so slow and prioritised going for the personal highlight reel plays rather than what was best for the team. Cogger and Brailey weren’t any better though.

I thought all the rookies did as well as they could all things considered. Their defence was impressive. That was on the spine.

Was disappointed we didn’t try and throw the ball around more, but also not sure we could have with the utter slowness of the spine.

Sharpe was the biggest loss IMO and would have been the difference tonight. We sorely lacked his speed and support play. Hunt was safe and solid (can’t ask much else of your third choice FB) but he’s not Sharpe.

Overall just a rubbish game to sit through. The Roosters weren’t any better.
