Touching but ball isn’t in hands so must have lost it so he had no control over it, can’t loose the ball and then use forearm to ground it without separation occurring

Of course you can. They literally made a new rule interpretation for it that I posted earlier in the thread.

Control isn't a thing, although I think it should be, because to me its a ludicrous rule that a ball can roll up your wrist and still be considered a grounding.
