The team does look pretty grim missing all that talent but looking on the bright side, we were threepeat spooners not to long ago. Suddenly we are missing 5 players due to Origin. While it does suck to miss so many star players, it's a great testament to the management team and Brown. Don't care too much about the result, just want to see the fringe players play their heart out and stake a claim for more playing time.

To me the most disappointing/frustrating thing is not rep-affected team we have to field (well done to all our guys playing Origin), but the fact we have to face two teams below us on the ladder who are completely unaffected and now have every chance of beating us. Which would then put us back to 8-8 and fighting for our finals spot again, which would hardly seem fair.

If only we were playing another team at least a little bit impacted (e.g. Raiders, Cowboys) it might even things up as a contest between two decent sides missing a few top players. As it is, we lose the best 30% of our team vs Warriors, and almost certainly again vs Bulldogs when none of them back up two days later. Then we play the Roosters away. Massive 3 games that could define our season now, and it's up to a makeshift pack and spine to ensure we get at least 1-2 wins from 3 to hold our position.

The team is a mess but this game was a write off anyway and I reckon Brown probably had inside info that Pearce and Klemmer wouldn’t be available for us. I’ll be surprised if the team runs out that way.

I hate Origin. Our only hope is that the Warriors write us off.

Whatever happens next fortnight, can’t afford to be flogged. F/A will be crucial.

I actually don’t hate Watson at fullback. Will allow him to sniff around the ruck where he’s at his best. Our only hope for points is that our forwards can try and hold their own and Watson and Levi’s running games cause some drama for them in the middle. I reckon that’s what Brown is going for.

Wouldn't surprise me if we were allowed to have a couple of players added to the squad to replace klem and pearce

Is Hoy the kid we signed when he was like 14 that was meant to be a bit of a prodigy? I haven’t had a chance to follow our lower grades for a while and I wasn’t aware that he had kicked on or was still on our books.

He’s a good player with plenty of speed. More suited to fullback though.

Throwing him to the wolves at this stage isn’t gonna end well though, especially out of position.

Not sure how this is throwing him to the wolves?

He’s what? 20? And coming into a side that’s high on confidence and playing it at home where he’ll have a lot of support. Yes we have a lot out but when else is he supposed to debut? It’s not like he’s going to get picked when we’re at full strength. Better to debut him now because of SOO rather than throwing him out there when the side was in a losing slump and throwing pressure on him to turn the side around.

And it’s not like he’s going to play fullback here either while ever we have Ponga. Better to see what he’s capable of in the halves.

19 I think. Ideally he’d get a game at fullback of Ponga was out with rep duties. We’d be better off starting Mann in the halves and maybe giving him 15 minutes off the bench.
