I'd love to see Taruva have a crack at FB. Some Penrith people (not the trolls) have been on here extolling his virtues at the back. I think Mason has had enough of a go to know he doesn't offer a huge amount.

I think we should try and develop Mason into a #14 jack of all trades type player, particularly focusing on learning to provide good service out of dummy half. This is because if there are no injuries in a game it gives an opportunity to rest Api for a bit. From what I've seen of Mason I don't think he's a permanent first grader in any specific position, but has enough in his game to be useful in a number of different areas across the park.

I'd rather not see Staines back in 1st grade. I'd go with the other options that were brought up in the other threads.

However, this does change my thoughts about the upcoming game. Not saying we can't win. I'm just feeling a lot less optimistic about it. Especially going out to the game with a bunch of budgies supporters.

Not keen on Mason being at the back, but hopefully it goes well.
TDS at 14, is Benji playing mind games.
Bird in for Seyfarth is interesting.

I'm concerned about these 2 and they should be upgraded.

1. Heath Mason --> replace with Luke L
3. Adam Doueihi --> replace with Staines.

And this one but it's worth a look. You could also replace him with Sukkar.

12. Jack Bird

I think the bench needs to improve as well but it's not a huge issue yet. I'd like to see Sukkar replaced with an impact middle forward.

I'm happy to see Seyfarth on the bench as I reckon he offers heaps more in the middle than on an edge.

Interesting that he's put Luai in at 6 and Fainu at 7. Not that it means much these days and I'd assume Luai will be the dominant caller. I'm just happy Latu is getting a start in the halves. With a bit of luck he can go injury free the rest of the year so we can get a real good look at what he offers.

Worried about Garrick and Turbo attacking Skelton and AD - could be an absolute massacre. Also this is potentially one of the 3-4 games a year where Luke Brooks looks class. Granted I felt the same thing at Leichhardt last year and he was absolutely useless that day.

Still, a must win game to stop our slump, although we haven’t played poorly we need to put some wins on the board. Haven’t won since magic round.

Mason has failed at FB in the past yet Benji gives him another opportunity after his ordinary defensive effort last week, IMO Laulilii would of been a better option.I also don't get the love for Seyfarth, 2/3 of the opposition tries have gone through him and his out side half (Galvin,Mason) this season which isn't good enough, last week all the raiders tries came via him and Mason's poor defence. The sooner we stop carrying players that aren't performing in the team the sooner we start winning, Benji for some reason doesn't get it with this pair.

I get what you are saying about Seyfarth's defence on the edge, but I'm fine with Seyfarth off the bench if he is playing in the middle. I assume Sukkar is the edge forward cover.

I'm rapt that Fainu is our ½. He straightens the attack and passes great left or right. Jarome is a running ⅝ and that's why he and LG didn't work out. When those two first got the ball their first few steps were always to the left.
