Intentional. Curled the little finger and ripped at his eye.
Takes me back to the year 11 wrestling matches in the classroom.
So because the player didn’t make an official complaint the MRC don’t bother citing him?

I thought it was more of an eye gouge than the Bulldogs one this weekend.

I think everyone including Chairman Lee is missing a few rather salient points about 'taking legal action.' As Lee should know better I'll address my comments to him. Anyone with a hotline to him, please feel free to pass them on.

1. What court are you taking this to Lee? The court of court of public opinion? A kangaroo court? No crime has been committed (at least not under any state, territory, or federal statute of the penal code.)

So now that we've ruled out the criminal courts lets move along to the civil courts.

2. The civil courts are about loss of monies due to an action. We have the action part locked down but what have we lost financially out of this? It hasn't cost us a spot in the finals and a bit of gate and TV money. Where is the financial loss? It hasn't hurt the club reputationally. If anything, it's stopped everyone putting the slipper into us and made them pity us a bit. Might even attract a few more memberships. It won't effect the amount of money we get from the NRL at the end of year. There is no financial loss that I can see and therefore no claim. Unless you are claiming for a monetary loss you won't get a matter heard in a civil court.

This guy is a muppet. Unfortunately he's also in overall control of the direction the club takes. He's the pseudo owner of the club. I can't believe no one has called him out for the dumb arse he is and the ridiculous shit he's sprouting. If they were able to find a court to hear it, it would turn out to be tales from tigertown part 2. It would embarrass us.

We got robbed. Everyone knows it. Let it go. With any luck we should certainly get the rub of the green against the broncos this weekend.........or not. Probably not.

Lee would be the only club boss who is both dumb enough and has an ego big enough to try and take the NRL to court. I won't lie, it would be pretty funny to watch, but it won't do us any good.

I'm not sure what would make us look sillier - losing the court case, or winning it getting the two points and still ending up with the spoon.

It was a f**ked decision, but there will be a day we benefit from something equally outrageous. Best thing the club can do is move on and try and win as many of the remaining games as possible and salvage something from this shitty season.

I wonder if the refs will be told to square us up next week?
I thought the same thing yesterday, opened up Ladbrokes to start scheming a nice conspiracy same game multi, then saw the broncos are up next….I closed lads and went to sleep.

More chance that there will be a second coming of Christ then the wests tigers getting the run of the green.

I kind of liken yesterday to that game back in 2004 against Souths where they “forgot” to blow half time in golden point and we got beat.

Only winning will change it. I certainly remember getting into plenty of arguments on here 10-12 years ago when we were considered the referee's darlings.

The tigers are now nothing more than outrage porn cannon fodder for NRL 360 and the back page of the telegraph. As if the decade long coaching fiasco wasn’t enough.

That was one of my favourites, a couple of others:

2004 v Brisbane, we’re up by 4, Corey Parker comes on as a replacement but no one comes off, they have 14 players on the field and Parker scores a try. The NRL deducts the 2 points from them, but we get nothing and miss the semis by 2 points

2016 v Newcastle, game is tied in the second half, 2 balls are somehow on the field, Jordan rankin in under a bombs no krobin simms kicks the second ball at him, rankin drops it, knights score off the scrum. We miss the semis by 2 points

You know how markers never get called offside charging down field goals in golden point right? You know it’s we’ve penalized and lost games for it? FOUR TIMES!

2006 v Raiders
2007 v Eels
20015 v Saints
2018 v Broncos

How the f**k are you guys bagging Lee for implying that we might seek legal action? If he said nothing I'm guessing the same people would say "where is Lee in all this? He is a lawyer he should xyz whinge whinge". Seeing him give it to the NRL in the most lawyer-like fashion on NRL 360 was awesome.

I 100% reckon Lee would, imagine if he did it and won, the publicity for his company would be through the roof

I also believe this is why the NRL arent admitting it was a fault to allow the captains challenge. Im not pretneding to be some sort of legal expert, however by admitting Klien got it wrong thats simply an interpretation. If they admit there shouldnt have been a Challenge thats them not following protocol.
100% Vic, the NRL would have had their own legal team looking over the events and associated comments by all and sundry in the press and on social media. I'd say that the response from Annesley was a response produced by the NRL legal team.

What a memory Vic.

Did you have them in your little black book of anti Tigers conspiracies?

100% it was.
The WT fans haven't reacted to it strongly, as they had already been penetrated by the full time circus in that game.
Lube was nowhere to be seen.
By the time we got around to reviewing the eye gouge, we were 7cm dilated.
Nobody felt a thing.

Isn’t there a sports tribunal or something of that nature that you can use for this sort of thing?
I’m not in the legal business, and I don’t believe it will go to any court, but imo, we have nothing to lose, even if we we didn’t win, we could effect change and show the NRL that the clubs are not going to cop BS over poor officiating by the NRL and the continual adding rule changes that no one can keep up with?

This can effect clubs ability to earn income, from gate receipts, sponsors etc, plus the ability to attract quality players?

Besides the best case scenario is we do get the result changed. That may change how our club is presently handled by the NRL and it’s officials? It seems to work for other clubs as I don’t believe all clubs are treated equally?

So f**ken stupid isn't it.

They complain we do nothing or just cop it and then he swings and everyone complains as well.

He is a champion.

I'm all for following it through...the NRL certainly would punish us in any way it saw fit and publicly haul the club over the coals PLUS deduct our hard-earned 2 points if we had a 14th man on the other side of the field for that last 1 second....they wouldn't worry about our public image! F CK IT!....if it's legal accountability handled professionally then the days of getting treated like a doormat may as well end right now!

It's time to move on.

I dont want to follow a sport where the game is played on Sunday, in court on Wednesday and you find out who won 2 weeks later.

Bottom line is the the rules have been tweaked to the point where the refs are too scared to make a call and are only too pleased to send decisions upstairs. If I hear another ref say to captain "Do you want to challenge it" I will jump out the window.

Vlandys saved the game from covid only to give it a slow death of pointless interruptions with his boutique rule changes designed to "quicken the game up" and "introduce attrition". How are you doing this if games now go for two hours and because of all the stoppages coaches are not using all their interchanges?

I am a little biased I know, but Rugby League reached perfection in 2005. There was almost no wrestle, no bunker, the video ref only spoke when spoken to and the product was expansive exciting Rugby League.

Chin up lads, we won the game, everyone knows it and this team is too good to get the wooden spoon.
