We took a probable grand finalist right to the 80 minute mark.

Was a great effort. Well done boys.

We lack a tremendous amount of polish. We need a couple more class players in the mix at least. We're so much better with Mullen in the team, but he still has the same flaws as always.

All we can do is wait and hope they grow.

Overall I'm pretty proud of the performance today. The back end of the season doesn't look so grim if we can keep coming up with those sorts of efforts.

Good job boys - although it's difficult to tell whether they've gotten better because we always play well against Melbourne.

Just too many rookie errors at important times in the end, although the one-sided reffing was f**king ridiculous. Too many times I think the refs just blow the whistle for who is supposed to win.

That game though sums up why I couldn't understand people wanting Randall moved to 5/8 to get rid of Cogger. Adams has been awful every time I've seen him play and much less ready than Cogger anyway.

Just blows my mind how much refs can influence the result - but as long as the team expected to win gets it, nothing is said.

We should have won that one.

Oh, and Sione is our best player already. Will challenge for NSW spot next year. Who would have thought putting an aggressive and athletic guy who loves smashing blokes in the backrow could work?

Inexperience showed.
I expected Mullen to be quiet. He still added a lot. Our RH edge can now function better in attack with his L to R pass. Gagai to wing and Mamo to fullback for me.
A few of the kicks were poor but may have been different if we had more experience and players ready to attack. Some excellent kicks otherwise.
Adams was hopeless. Slow passes and off mark.

He's the quickest, most agile backrower I think I've ever seen. He's still only small by forward standards, but he makes it work. He's probably not done growing yet. You can definitely see the world class player in him when he plays in the pack.

So f**king proud. Against a side that all season has looked virtually unstoppable, to come so close is impressive. We're last, we've copped more embarrassing losses than any other team in a single season since Souths were shite. We had no right to be so close at all.

I'd seriously consider going back to Uate and Gagai on the edge with Mullen and Sione to fix up their defensive issues. Elliot was trash and Mamo was solid at fullback.

And I agree with the comments regarding Sione. He'll challenge for a NSW spot in the next two seasons if he keeps this up. Long term, could be an amazing backrower, one of the best in the game. Just so f**king damaging in both attack and defense. Get more time with him running lines off Mullo? WHEW. He'll be slaying teams week in and week out.

I don't rate Elliot at all but he was solid today I thought to be fair.

IMO Mamo actually offers a lot more than Gagai does from fullback, but he also does a lot more dumb shit and his positioning is suspect so it's a catch-22.

I disagree with your first sentence. He was garbage right the way through.

Yet I agree with your second sentence. For me, the fact Mamo can't catch consistently, can't tackle consistently and can't pass consistently makes we want to look for another option.

We just can't win any games while we keep making those basic errors at the worse possible time. No one else in the comp does that. Whether it is dropping the ball in the set after the try, or having a try disallowed (which didn't happen today), then conceding a penalty and letting them score straight away. It's frustrating to watch because the rest of the effort and enterprise today was significantly better than the garbage wrestle and grind they turned up with.

We put in a really good effort. The referees were a disgrace. I'm too annoyed to say anything else at the moment really.

Our errors are deadset soul-destroying. After we scored that last try my mate said 'so who will drop it?' because it is so us to just come up with the dumbest mistakes you'll ever see.

The tackled without the ball penalty which led to Storm's try was absolute garbage too

Overall it was one of our best full 80 minutes of the season though. Mullen is the only one in our spine with a good passing game.

Oh yeah, f**k off Chris Adams too.

We would be better off having bedsy come out of retirement to finish off the season at hooker than Adams. Get Levi in now for his surgery so he is good to go for pre season.
