Blessing in disguise potentially. We needed Nof back sooner than later.

This is where depth will potentially play a part in our season. Nofo has a shot and if he doesn't play the joint down will be back in reggies next week, but if he performs against the Storm he goes a long way to getting back in the top squad.

Same goes for Thompson, I reckon he'll be absolutely everywhere and doing everything he can to steal the fullback job off Tui. If he plays Slater off the park in his 300th game he may just do it.

We may not have too many players other clubs would fight over but out of out top 30 they are predominantly genuine first graders and as long as the competition for spots is there they will push each other and get the best out of each other. I think this is a great move by IC. In a club where in the past there has been so much ego and prima donnas the make up of this 2018 squad makes no room for an individual who is not 100% focused on the team and their job.

I am looking forward to this game. I think we will learn more from this week than we did last week.

Not hugely worried about Tui being out, however that’s 3/4 first choice spine out which is obviously far from ideal

Glad to see Nofa back, he’ll be beyond pumped to rip in

In other Tigers late mail, Josh Aloiai travelling to Melbourne. Likely to force Chee Kam out of 17. As reported, Lolohea expected to be ruled out, with David Nofoaluma to come back into side. Lolohea appears to have failed today’s fitness test. @NRLcom

Our bench could be the difference, possibly the strongest bench we can name without carrying 4 forwards imo

Twal, Aloiai, Einsenhuth/Matulino and Mcillwrick

A bit shit for MCK, done nothing to deserve being dropped by garlic mayo is too good to leave out IMO.

I'm happy for Nofoaluma to be back but not through injury. It's a worry that we already have 2 injuries to our spine. Also I heard Nofo was in reserves cos he had surgery in off season along with Sue and obviously McQueen so Ivan is trying to get them match fit for later in the season.

Considering is a rebuilding year I guess having injuries can give others an opportunity to grab a spot but I would rather just have a regular team for awhile so combinations can click.

Should be better attacking this week because Benji and Brooks would prepare all week but Lolahea being ruled out the day before makes it hard again even if Thompson ends up better.

It’s hard to remember a time in the WT history when there has been so much depth in the squad. While it is unfortunate that some players are not in the side atm they just have to bide their time and wait for their opportunity.

I honestly think Aloiai, Sue, Felise, MCK, Nofo and Fonua should all be in the top team. When it comes to the forwards though I don't know who to leave out. I think you have to play Packer, Twal, ET and Matulino and even to a lesser extent Eisenhuth in the prop/middle forward rotation. Lawrence, Rochow and MCK have been great on the edge.

I really like Lawrence and Eisenhuth but these guys must be under pressure to retain their spots even though they have been good. If Rochow has a bad game he will be under pressure. McQueen may also get some form in reserve grade.

I wouldn't pick Kev anymore because I think we have too many capable players to replace him. MWZ must be a poor game or two away from getting dropped as well.

Geez it’s good to have competent depth.Unfortunately this magnificent machismo sport has a high attrition rate & our club has never been more prepared with appropriate contingencies.IC’s no fool & he has assembled a strong roster cognisant of the fact that injuries are an unpredictable variable that u must b prepared for by ensuring u have quality depth. The days of milone Edwards Littlejohn Lovett etc being our depth players r thankfully over as r the days where conceited lowlife greenhorns like the spineless tanker think they can destabilise the club.

Hard to remember a time when people would be upset about MCK being cut.

Amazing we are missing our 1 6 and 9, playing probably the best club side in the comp, and on there home turf and plenty of people think we will get the bacon or at least push them to the limits.

If Cleary jags a win today he will go up into the Wok Ryan’s class of being able to turn a team of battlers into winners. Sadly I give us Neville no chance and I think they might win by plenty, but I said the same thing last week. I think the Storm are at least two rungs of the ladder higher than the Chooks and we are playing them at their fortress

No team makes u pay for ur mistakes & ur defensive buffoons like Brooks Nofa & Naquama than Melb.

We will b doing well to get within 3 tries of them 2day.

Brooks has been really good defensively. Naiqama and Nofo do make mistakes. Melbourne to me look like the best team in the comp though and their wingers plus Slater and Munster will give them plenty of points.

I suppose we can win but we need to kill them in the forwards and have the whole team play out of their skins.
