I watched the replay of both teams last week, the chooks are a team in motion, all players running onto the ball into holes or supporting the man with the ball, the WT on the other hand were the opposite .

We were against Manly in the trial , but last week we played the total opposite and i cant work out why.

Plus it’s been belting down here for most of the week and unless we get some heatwave weather, we are in for a slow and muddy track.

This will take some speed and precision out of the game and add value to forward efforts.

It should also enhance spoiling tactics as the game is played with at least 10% less quality and guile.

If we have a go, I believe we can compete

We can because that Rooster pack is certainly not a competition leading outfit and our starting pack can get on top of them.
The backline is pretty shit hot though and ours is rocks/diamonds

Plus we are cursed.

Anything that is good for other sides, usually turns out to be catastrophic or fatal for us.

That probably goes without saying actually.

A shared belief, a custom and a way of life.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Yet somehow we have much lower fan f**kwit ratio than other clubs.

Because that Manly side wasn’t a first grade quality outfit?
Thats not why.

Firstly did you and the others replying to my post actually watch the trial ?
Yes Manly were under strength , do you think im f**king stupid? , if we played the same as we did against the raiders we would have been lucky to have put on 18 points against the Eagles NOT 50.
Canberra as good as they are didnt stop us doing the things we did in the trial which included almost 30 players which a lot werent even 1st grade players ..
Such as Standing deeper, using the backline , fighting for offloads ,quick play the ball, supporting the ball carrier to name a few.
So over to you and others to explain how the f**k Canberra totally changed the players from doing that... the opposition can 100% defend and nullify that style of play BUT they cant make us not do it or try it ... we attempted ZERO of what worked against Manly and it has nothing to do with the quality of the opposition.

Can't remember the last time we won against the Roosters. Don't think it will be this weekend, especially if we go away from what worked for us in the trial again.

This rain brings back memories of the Tigers v Roosters game about 3-4 years ago in similar conditions where we got beat by about 30, and Taukeiaho kicked about 6/6 goals from the sideline in the rain. He has barely kicked a ball straight since.

The rain should bring them down to our level a bit, so I don't think it will blow out but I don't think the Roosters will be too troubled. Something like 20-8.

To take it a step further ,, our strengths were out wide ... and we f**ked around relying on our weaknesses ( Brooks-Moses) around the rucks to win... we may as well kept the same backline as last year if we are going to come up with such a shit game plan as that.
Agree & it’s y im expecting a vast improvement & am looking forward to watching AD stamp his authority on our attack.Unlike Mbye & Brooks this kid has a high rugby league IQ & anybody who watched him in the Balmain juniors knows he’s a natural 5/8 & not a fullback.

All true. The other thing to note was that the Raiders line speed when we were attacking their line was insane. We got caught with the ball at first reciever on a number of occassions after they rushed up. Its almost as if they were miles offside yet not called, that certainly wouldnt have been the case though.

The Manly game was a trial with Manly missing players but Walker/DCE/foran were like worst on ground against the Roosters where Harper and Schuster were best for them against us. In saying that it looked like because of the wet whether last week we went away from what we did against Manly. Not sure if the tactic was to be ultra conservative. Tigers don't do the 1%ers for 80min. Like we defended our buts of and still came away with the first try. That should of been an encouragement but we undo the good work with dumb shit.

- (Brooks) kick out on the full in play and kick off
- dumb offloads only 10m out(BJ)
- stupid penalties (garner) after the forwards have already defended for so long.
- Kepoa not having the skill to just draw and pass with 2 hands (under 8 training)

All that lead to at least 3 tries to the Raiders who won by 18points.
