Whilst BJ has undoubtedly been a failure in 2020 I am going to go (slightly) into bat for him here

* We never seemed to use him. I’m not sure why you buy a strike center and never give him early ball. We saw glimpses of what he can do when he was provided this

* He didn’t come to us until the second last week of pre season, so wasn’t at the level of fitness Madge expects

* The COVID break would have been the worst possible thing for a guy like him, left to his own devices away from the squad

Now these don’t excuse him, he is an experienced professional and we should expect better, however we know what he’s like and at 28 he isn’t going to suddenly change his ways. Let’s just hope we get a proper pre season from him this time around and see the best of BJ in 2021.
