3/4 years ago Maps was the ‘next big thing’ for junior outside backs. I remember he had some hype when he debuted for newie at 19. Had a lot of injuries which stalled him. Can play anywhere from 1-7 but mainly a been a centre, interested to see if can crack first grade this year

I was listening to Richo on the abc and 360 recently and it seems more than ever, he’s very pro-Benji.

He said he was a close friend.

So I think if the decision is his, he’s not going to let him go. It’s a board decision anyway and Richo can wipe his hands of it.

It’s not Benjis fault in the sense that we anointed him without any experience. Then we let him appoint his assistants. We endorse his recruitment recommendations. He cuts Robbie out and given last years fiasco, one wonders about that decision.

He’s thinking he’s up to it, he takes his opportunity.

But Benji is a product of the boards estimation.

He’s a having a go, no trips to Fiji this year at least. Buzz broke that story!

So I don’t think this game will decide his fate.

He’s been good on certain levels of recruitment with the Mays in particular. That was “ open play” recruitment.

I think we could definitely use Benji in the club but probably in a different role.

The game today, well obviously it would be good to win it, but it won’t be easy.

Their pack is so much better than our pack. AD vs Tino at 13. Sione and Pole off the bench are great for us but they've got Klese Hass and Fifita.

I reckon May is unreal but we look completely out classed in the pack.

It shows how poor our recruitment was in the pack was this season because Hunt should be filling an impact prop and Bird was meant to fill the lock position. They've both under performed.

We have plenty of great attacking players but we need them to stand up. Api, Latu (there shouldn't be so much pressure on this kid but we need him to kill it), Luai, Turuva and our outside backs can score points.

We have a centre remarked on by knowledgeable commentators as the best in the game another centre not far off .. a 7 who could be rated streets ahead of his nearest rival and a smattering of not bad players in the backs a couple who could also be ranked number 1 on their day, if they pulled finger.. .. for the forwards I’m expecting Twal to be a pack leader to inspire …Pole to take off his pink church dress and start doing what he’s paid to do- hurt humans… and the rest of the forwards to forget about what they are doing after the game, hunt as a wolf pack and be the predator until they see fear and mistakes unfold …it’s ALL about the attitude today and hopefully the start of something.. We can hit 30 points if we win all the games from here = finals bound

We have the potential on paper but we haven't performed once. Benji is under pressure. I think he is starting with Hope, playing Bird on an edge and Seyfarth off the bench. That is along with AD starting at lock.

Benji is basically throwing everything he can at trying to get the team performing. The question is will they.

Api, Sione, Fonua and Seyfarth on the bench is a good bench though. Hopefully they have some impact on the game.
