On top of the previous posts about leadership.

I understood keeping API as captain and for leadership and letting Da Silva go. But starting Hope? Doesn't that take away from that reasoning? That could have been Da Silva starting.
Yes, we let his management run us over.

Richo is softer than a wet paper bag.

You sneeze in his general direction and you’ll get a release.

Hopes on $200k …Desilva didn’t want to be a back up.. He wanted APIs spot and pay grade $750k ..or a bit less

I'll take the win, but my god we were a shambles today. Gold Coast were actually the better team, but ref played us right back into the game and helped get us over the line.

Gold Coast basically got Wests Tigered today - better team, bs ref decisions and lost narrowly
Also as did the rorters a few wks ago the tits scored more tries

Was at the game and maybe need to rewatch the replays but actually thought Luai was good apart from a couple fluffed kicks

his energy is always good, was involved in most of our tries and chased down Sami when he looked destined to run full field. A bit unlucky to not get the match winner at the end
I think he really stifles attacking chances in the oppositions 20, other than that and the odd stupid penalty he gives away, I think he is great. As I said before a lot of his negatives are the result of trying too hard to make something happen.

You see him in the open field when we are attacking from the deep and he is getting people on the outside of defenders/throwing short passes into gaps and tends to get the opposition on the back foot it’s quite effective and there were a number of left side plays yesty where we made good yards.
I think if he just uses a little bit less width in the 20, and uses the ball to beat men rather than trying to beat them in foot our left side attack will shine. I think May, Sam Fainu and Skelton (with a bit of Bula thrown) in will be lethal given given good ball. Was evident when Douehi straightened up things that we have half decent attack when the right things happen

“Wests Tigered” lol

I’m going to use that at work.

And that’s where a couple of left side tries came from in the red zone.. With Taylan there Luai doesn’t dare stray from the script. Otherwise it’s anyone’s guess..and money for jam opportunities wasted

No. Benji can explode deluxe if he needs to..they’ve seen that. He’s giving Luai an extended Leash…but once he sees that’s going nowhere he will shorten it
Not even acknowledging him at the press conference was interesting.

And a lot of the love-language and affectionate commentary is gone.

And JL was as “ cool as you like” in praising Taylan.

There’s a new darker energy being projected. Normally we win even by a bit and Benji is ecstatic and wants to give everyone a neck message.

Bellamy is always dark. Wins by 30 and he can become upset.

Most captains would be dark on the game as well but not Luai..He’s upbeat ..Theres a disconnect there…(mind you thats his first win in a while)

Some truth to this though it still becomes Luais problem because he is the director. He needs to make sure they’re doing their if they aren’t.

I think Luai is playing okay. Api has been poor. Benji started with Hope because Api has been struggling but I don't think Api was any better.

The big issue though is our attack is terrible. Luai and Api are the guys who should be leading us here and they aren't.

I suppose to be fair Benji is changing things up all the time. AD worked to 13. Galvin being the main playmaker was a disaster. Pole was on an edge for parts of the game against the Titans and I think he dropped off making a tackle on Brian Kelly plus dropped the ball cold trying to play that role. To'a was moved to fullback at some point in that game.

Benji does have to try things but we have 6 or so games to go and we have no structure or look like developing a structure. I think you have to get your attack right to compete in this league and the attack can take some time. The thing is Benji has to make better calls earlier and less poor ones. I reckon this season is over and we have to work on next season now. We can't have another disaster of a start to the season.

The sad thing for us supporters is that this is a better year than what we've had in a while and I think the team has under-performed terribly.

Both Api and Seyfarth were a chance to not be playing this game, due to a virus, according to Benji in the presser.
