Can we get anymore embarrassing?
Depends what was said. A lot of you were willing to hang Barnett because of something he may of said . Without knowing what was said people are standing up for him . Regardless of anything else it’s a team sport . He put him self above the team at that point

The wooden spoon is still a distinct possibility so there is still plenty of opportunity for the club to embarrass itself further.

Klemmer: Games: 15, Offloads: 29, Tackle Breaks: 20, Average Metres: 156, Metres per Run: 10.9

Jsaf: Games: 18, Offloads: 3, Tackle Breaks: 2, Average Metres: 89, Metres per Run: 10.8

Dsaf: Games: 15, Offloads: 13, Tackle Breaks: 10, Average Metres: 115, Metres per Run: 10.6

Klemmer is 100% an overpaid plodder right.
One of these players played origin this year.

The wrong one

Why are you so in love with the saifitis when they have been absolute bums this year?

As much as you will never admit it klem has been our best player this season, overpaid or not.
Klemmer has been our most consistent player this season, and he’s also still being paid like an elite, game-changing player that he just hasn’t been since his first year here. Both can be true.

If the decision makers think whatever has held the Saifiti’s back this season will continue to do so going forward then they should be on the chopping block too. They’re our most impactful forwards when fit and motivated though and it’s not particularly close.

Newcastle star David Klemmer is facing the sack as his relationship with the Knights turns increasingly ugly.

Klemmer has been issued a show-cause notice and The Daily Telegraph understands he is fighting to save his contract at the Knights, amid increasing speculation his deal could be terminated as early as Wednesday.

The Knights are bracing for top-level talks over the future of the former representative prop following a tumultuous few days.

Insiders claim Klemmer was angry at being denied a late-season move to premiership contenders Parramatta before the NRL’s August 1 transfer deadline.

Tensions deepened when Klemmer was stood down on Tuesday for failing to leave the field and abusing a trainer during the Knights’ loss to Canterbury last Sunday.

Klemmer was a mysterious omission from Newcastle’s side to take on the Wests Tigers when it was announced on Tuesday afternoon, just 24 hours after plans for the former NSW and Kangaroos prop to join the Eels surfaced.

His contract at the Knights expires at the end of next season, and the club knocked back the push for him to take up a two-year offer with the Eels.

Michael Chammas has been Klemmer's media mouthpiece in the past so expect an article by him from Klemmer's perspective at some point.

Klemmer mad he wasn’t released to go to the Eels? What’s the go there? Doesn’t make it sound like he wants to be here…

so many conflicting things over the past 48 hours!

If this thing about Klemmer wanting to go to the Eels is true then let him go. He’s been a good servant for the club over the last 4 years but if he doesn’t want to be here anymore just show him the door and both parties can move on.

The Parra move suggestion appears to have been made after the incident between Klem and Trainer so can’t imagine they have any relevance with each other.
Unless one was revenge for the other

What happened to Klem building a house here etc. he’s gotta be careful because no one will pay him what we’re paying him next season..

This whole story sounds convoluted and I don’t think we’ll know the exact truths.

Who’s Klemmer’s manager? Is it Moses? I really hope Klemmer wasn’t the one to instigate the Eels conversation because yeah if that’s the case then see ya later, but I don’t get that feeling with how he’s played for us.

Any deal with Parra (or any club) for beyond this season would've meant us paying part of his wage to play elsewhere next year, so if they think they can get away with terminating his contract that's a far better outcome.

News Corp understands that a group of players are preparing to confront the club over the treatment of the Knights prop, who was stood down amid allegations that he refused to leave the field and and then abused trainer Hayden Knowles during the Knights’ loss to his former club Canterbury last weekend.

Klemmer, who has been arguably the Knights best player this season, has been given a breach notice and the opportunity to defend himself.

However, it is understood he has the support of his teammates as he prepares to fight for his future.

Klemmer was asked to come from the field in the 71st minute by Newcastle’s head trainer Hayden Knowles. Klemmer allegedly ignored the request and stayed on the field for another two minutes and remained heavily active in the play.

He was then instructed by Knowles – Newcastle’s blue shirt trainer – to again leave the field. Klemmer did so but turned around on his way off the field and screamed towards the direction of the veteran trainer.

As a result, Klemmer won’t play against the Tigers on Sunday and it is unclear when and if he will take to the field again for Newcastle this year. He has easily been Newcastle’s best player this year.

Outstanding decision making from the famously well managed and coached Newcastle knights.

If the players hadn't 100% stopped listening to the dud coach they sure will now.

Says he never considered moving to Parra yet from the exact same article:

"Insiders claim Klemmer was angry at being denied a late-season move to premiership contenders Parramatta before the NRL’s August 1 transfer deadline."

Most entertainment we've gotten out of the Knights this year at least.

What an actual f**king mess. How has this become so big and public? We look like absolute amateurs.

This will be AOB gone. I mean how do you recover from this? It’s become so public that now it has to be one or the other goes.
