On the upside. ...we can knock this mob over again....winning one more than the broncs still remains

I'll bet ( more hoping) Sam and Reynolds are rested last round

I said it earlier in the week it wouldn't surprise me if the Broncos knock off the Bunnies or the Roosters. They just seem to find a win when they need it.

One thing out of tonight....F/ A is now pretty much out of the picture so there should be no need for a hi risk points chasing mindset....control...possession and win the 3 games by one point will be as good as we need to be.

Probably have a better chance of dragons losing out we have to beat them anyway. Without widdop they may not?

Sharks will probably win out.

Tigers just have to win the last 3 then hope cos they play on the last Thursday would put pressure on other games.

We win our last 3: well make it into the finals.
We're a good chance of jumping the Dragons - they're cooked.

We aren't out yet. If we win our next 3 and either Dragons, Sharks, Warriors or Broncos lose the rest of their games then we are in Top 8 (on points not f/a)

I don't see this happening to Warriors, Sharks or Broncos, but if Dragons form slump continues then we are in

All things considered....form....squad. ..state of affairs of the 3 opposition teams ..they're as winnable as could be hoped for. ....WT we're talking about notwithstanding
Bottomline is win 3 and we're in.....with form!

I think tonight’s killed it for us, the F/A more then anything. We’re now -44 Brisbane.

Even if we win our last 3 and Brisbane lose to Easts it’s unlikely we make the -44 up to overtake them.

Agree best chance is that Saints lose their next 3 but after us they play Dogs & Knights so again unlikely.

Sharks play Cows, Knights, Dogs. They’re home.

Warriors got Dogs, Panthers, Raiders. If they lose 2 we’re an outside chance of catching them.

Maybe I saw this game through different eyes to some but while ever the Broncos are getting nearly 30K to a Thursday night match the NRL are not going to let them miss the 8.

I saw some decisions tonight that convinced me of this. Klein must be the fall guy for the NRL because he refs the Broncos games and can always find those little things that swing the game back to the Broncos.

Good example was Sims try. Klein was dead in line to an obvious forward pass. Also the shoulder charge penalty, no way, the guy was just bracing himself for a collision, that penalty totally stopped Souths momentum. I ain't no legal expert but a shoulder charge necessitates the offending player moving forward, thats what a charge is, not just standing on the spot. Don't get me started on the markers being square...

In the end the Donkeys ran away with it because Souths just folded but when they were making their comeback Klein stifled them.....just what I saw anyway.

It was farcical.

Plus Gagai was stripped of the ball by Ofehengaue who raked it in a three man tackle.

I knew the result of tonight before a ball got kicked off.

You guys have to win all your games now.

We should have most our guys back for round 25 too so I expect a performance from Souths similar to the Storm game on that night.

No use bitching about dud calls or the leg up the donkeys seem to get. We have ourselves to blame 100%, we lost to Parra, Newcastle, Dogs, G coast and a heavily depleted Chooks side. Seriously we should be talking top four. Just a shame Farah and Moses M did not arrive a couple of months earlier.

Anyway IMO if we finish 9th that is a massive achievement considering me and plenty others were thinking spoon.

I thought the Gagai one was a loose carry however it went 2ms backwards and was regathered by Souths, play on. Either way when you lose by 20 it’s hard to blame the refs. I realize they had some backs out but I thought Souths were a bit soft last night, with a top 4 spot guaranteed and having just played 2 tough games the drop in intensity was expected.

It's likely by round 25 we’ll be 100/1 to make the 8 and Souths will already be in the 4 so it won’t mean much for either side.

Totally agree however it’s also pretty insane that we could finish the year with 14 wins, 10 losses and miss the 8. That’s never happened before, a lot of years 11 wins is enough, twice teams have made it with 10 wins!

I can't remember a team ever having a winning record and missing the top 8.

We play our next two before the Broncos play the Roosters. If we can win both and get the PD to within 20 of the Broncos, then perhaps the Chooks will put the cleaners through them.

Really though, when you're talking 'mathematically possible' it usually means you're cooked.
