That second half was absolutely woeful. Things mush be dire in Newcastle for this Chris Adams bloke to be picked in first grade. He is the worst player to have played first grade this year.

Adams is from the local league in Newcastle and is going back there next week. He's only playing first grade because we have so many injuries.

Jake Mamo somehow voted as the 'Event Star Of The Game' Lol... He was close to our worst.

Surely we have a hooker in 20s or NSW cup that we could have brought in to play hooker over Adams. He is essentially playing in a 3rd or 4th tier competition.

Given the ball we had in the first half if we'd been able to execute even a simple attacking play we would have had 4 or 5 tries. Then we completed fell apart in the second and our defence was completely geniused.

There's just nothing to be hopeful about after a game like that. Literally every aspect of our game was shit.

Oh well let's face it I'll be putting myself through it again next, and the week after that, and the week after that....

*sigh*

Today was Adams' last game for us I believe, he's been released to go back and play the local league finals.

I reckon now is the time for Brown to make a bold move to protect our for/against from further damage. Just don't turn up for the remaining games of the season and forfeit. Next step in my master plan is to arrange all home games against the Maitland Pickers (season record 13 losses, 1 draw and 1 win). Maybe, and it's still not assured, we could jag a win.

Honestly, we had so many chances in the first half on their line we should have scored 3 more tries. We have nothing in attack, Mullen useless as ever, Hodko: if you bought a 4th string half and gave them a lobotomy you would have a better half than Hodkinson, I shall no longer call him hodko from this point, he has lost the right of a nickname.

I went to this game, but my son got sick right before 1st grade came out so we had to leave. God moves in mysterious ways. I am thankful I got to see a Newcastle side actually win a match prior to exiting the grounds. I actually spent all day avoiding media, people at work telling me anything about the game. So I could come home and entertain the notion we might actually win this one hahaha.

I'm annoyed, again, about our touch line kicks from penalties.
We seem content to just put it out and grind the next set.
Always a risk if you go for more but I reckon we can do better. They are much easier metres than grinding it.

It has been that way for years. I don't get it either. So many parts of our kicking game are stupid and deplorable yet we pay our halves in excess of 500K each. FFS.

I can't believe we've never had a 9 that has the ability to kick in general play. It's just a no brainer in the modern game.

Levi seems to have developed a decent short kicking game close to the line this year, on a number of occasions he's won us a repeat set by kicking out of dummy half. If we could get him practicing his long kicking as well that would take some pressure off the halves.
