The win over Brisbane in the semis was in Brisbane iirc.

Nah, that was at the SFS. I was there, and we smashed them. Great day out.

The win in '03 at Suncorp was totally against the odds and our best win against them in my memory. Heino scored the match-winner I think. Balmain also drew with them once in '98/'99 at Leichhardt when they were an utter powerhouse.

Baby Broncos games our most dire affairs, but I expect us to get up this week!

Yep, got that one wrong. Only had eyes for the field watching on TV that day.

Just watched the Storm game, pretty gutsy, but those penalties are a concern. As well as the sinbins.
Don't see Godinet as an answer to the 9 spot.

I remember Benji running down I think it was Darren Smith early in game when he looked certain to score. It was a major turning point. That incredible effort by the prodigal son was 1 of numerous incredible contributions he made during 05 season/finals that helped us win the comp.

Geez it’s a joy to c him back where he belongs @ Concord & still having a major influence on our results albeit via a modified style of game management instead of sublime individuality due to effect of Father Time on his speed.

I was at that game aswell. All the experts were talking about how good our attack was that year and no one noticed our defence had improved to be one of the best by the end of the year.

During the 8 game winning streak and the finals alot of the games were in the balance until 20min to go when our side tackled really well then we seemed to have such fit players that we tore teams apart in the final 20.

Semi final against Cowboys halftime was only 14-6 ended up being 50-6.

Then Broncos game halftime was only 12-6 ended up winning 36-6

Even the GF game was in the balance until we scored 3 second half tries.

Against the sharks game score was 12-6 55th minute and we won 46-6.

That's why I'm so impressed with them this year they are defending well for 80min during a year where we are rebuilding and have had injuries to key play makers that they trained with all off season but I can see the attack clicking. I don't think our attack has been so bad it's the best I have seen us offload the ball in ages we have come up against teams who defend well. Don't get me wrong we have lots of work to do we will still have games here and there where we let in 4-5 tries but the team will learn from mistakes. Just keep the effort up and I can see us being strong second half of the year and any win until then is a bonus that we thought they would not have.

Don't want to get ahead of ourselves whatsoever but this year does have a very similar feel to 2005 I reckon. Although we were pushing for Top 8 in '04, not battling to avoid the spoon like last season.

Our attack in the first half is a worry. To be fair so has the Bronco's. McIlwrick is going OK, anyone know what happened to Godinet?

What a game, I thought the penalty was a joke (how can they decide a game on that?), if we can keep near that intensity for the season, we will have a good year. Benji hurt, I hope Josh is ready?

The fact he was square shits me. It was Godinet who wasn't square and he didn't get involved.

I know our attack was poor again probably worst of the 3 games but still proud of the boys defence we lost fullback and winger for first half and our offloads were hitting the deck all game. Shit result deserved a draw but maybe losing will bring them down to earth a bit. Don't need hostile changes just need to work on things. I thought tonight Brooks played his best game in awhile and Marshall was not as good. Naquama played well defensivly against Roberts. If we can get an 8 point lead in a game now we will be hard to run down.

That call at the end of the game was bullshit, the broncos player was going sideways and to have a penalty like that in golden point made it a farce. There was plenty of markers not completely square during the game so why call one then?

Just listening to the Ch 9 guys.
Very bad decision
I feel flat.
Broncos player not straight playing the ball.
Ref doesn’t have a feel for the game.
Just a few of the things said.

Greenberg can say what he wants but his mob are ruining this game.

Anyway back to the game, I don’t know what IC is going to do next week if Benji is out assuming Reynolds is not ready.
Lolohea to 5/8 ? Gamble perhaps?
Scrappy game plenty of dropped ball but gee they all did pretty well defence wise.
