One of the most bitter losses I can remember but plenty of optimism can be taken from it. I genuinely think we win if not for Barnett. The others can be proud and should take a ton of confidence into the rest of the the season once the disappointment wears off.

Injuries very disappointing though. Surely we're due some luck in that department...

Listening to these clowns on fox you’d think Penrith are the only team with injuries

They seriously can’t find anyone better than Anasta, Cronk & co???

Mixed feelings on that one.

Panthers weren't at full strength, but neither were we. I think we showed we can match it with them in the early stages.

Hard to stomach because it felt like we could have won if 1 individual didn't have a brain snap.

Wasn't always happy with Hoy's defensive positional play but he stood up and created more than his fair share of opportunities for us today.

Kurt Mann was immense.

Dan Saifiti will be better for the run.

Extremely tough game against the Sharkies next week. It would feel unfair to start the season 2-2 based on what we've shown. But it's also on us to earn the 3-1 start. We need to bounce back from this.

I also want to comment on Tuala. He is "fine". Will do his job but he'll rarely impact a game.

He still doesn't have very strong carries in him. I think Hunt and Lee will be taking his place sooner rather than later.

I know there's a fair few who think he is one of our top 2 wingers but just can't agree based on what I've seen, which once again is fine, but we need a little more out of a winger.

Hopefully we get a few back next week, am proud they stuck at it, can’t understand Moimosea not getting more game time considering we were down a man, if he can’t get lots of minutes in that situation it’s hard to see him coming in for Barnett.
Likely/hopeful changes, Ponga for Hoy, even though it was his best game, Jones for Barnett (do we have anyone besides Moimosea), Sue maybe for Croker or Thompson.
Assuming Frizell is ok and those on report are as well, Randall, JSaf

Just like to say that I would suggest finding an alternative the Bunker, should anyone require fertility treatment.

Edit: What was so difficult to see?

Anyway, very proud of all who weren’t marched. I do wish we had gone left with Clune and Best more. It looks the goods.

Just finished watching the game after being at work earlier.
I accidentally saw the score just before full time (and that we had someone sent off).
Disappointed watching it but happy we were in it up to our eyeballs until the send off and even then we played as well as could be expected. Only found out on the edges, not surprisingly.
So proud of the effort put in by the 16 guys and I have a feeling if we can keep our injuries in check, we are in for a big year.

AOB wasn't too keen on answering questions in the post-game conference.

He did say Brodie Jones and Kalyn are extremely likely to play next week.

Panther fan here. I just wanted to congratulate your team on their gutsy performance. You may have won the game if you had the full team on board, it was a close contest when Barnett was sent off (does he do this sort of stuff a lot? It was just so 1983). You can build something good with that type of culture of resilience.

Both teams made a lot of errors, but that is to be expected with so many first graders missing from both teams. With Klemmer, Ponga, Leota, Martin, JFH, To'o and Cleary out there were 7 rep players not playing plus a few other first graders. That said, I think the locals got good value for their money because even with 12 men the Knights tried their guts out. It was worth the price of admission just to watch Gagai, Best, Tago and Crichton going hard at it. I loved all the centre play from both sides.

Well played Knights!

I’ve avoided commenting but since you asked…

Barnett has a brain snap in him. This was definitely the worst of them and it was bad, although to be honest I don’t think it was as bad as some have made out. I know that’s not a popular thing to say right now. He’ll deservedly get a stretch.

I am not going to be in the pitchfork brigade on Barnett. He is not a fake tough guy, he is actually tough, and we have benefitted from it in the past. His mongrel has been a big part of some of our pack’s better performances over the years. Two weeks ago when the Roosters brought JWH and SST off the bench, Barnett rolled them.

I think Barnett has done enough for this club being a mongrel that we (Knights only) shouldn’t totally hang him out to dry now.

Fair enough, we all need a bit of mongrel in our team. Its something the Panther's lack. We don't have an enforcer, our toughest bloke JFH, is very quiet and doesn't scare anybody.

It's a two edged sword, mongrel. When it works, you dominate the other pack. When it gets out of control the ref blows the pea out of the whistle and the penalties kill you, or, at its worst, the sin bin and send offs occur. A fine line to tread.........
