Welcome back LL.Great to see the return of the super talented Luke Laulilii.I really like the look of our team & predicting an upset.

I’m a kit man.

I’ve met him close up. He walks with this little spring and mobility in his step. Not a lumbering plod.

He told me to remember his name ( in a nice happy way).

He was hanging out with Pole. A very good influence!

I prefer our second rowers and our bench.

Shibasaki used to play footy with Star, and Star is another player finally showing something.

No disrespect to shibs, but he’s not the greatest of players. If someone is suggesting Madge can turn him into something…

Jesse Arthurs, factory at best. Another cheapie.

Hopefully Birdy will put some grunt in his game.

Faatape a bit unlucky. He screws things up and I don’t trust him, but maybe Benji over reacted. I’m getting soft!

The Broncos are not a super-power. They have too many clowns and orphans in their side.

We can do this ladies.

Be not afraid.

Red for go!

Faatape had to give way for LL.No surprise that the gun LL straight after returning in NSW cup after a long layoff is rushed into the top grade.

I had a moment of misplaced sympathy!

Thanks for the background.
Luke L is an average trier, his only card over Faataape is that he has played more footy on the wing. His games in NRL have been right side, this weekend he is on the left (same with Faataape (predominantly right) it does the young blokes no favours swapping sides. Faataape stuffed that kick on the break up because he tried to put it on his right foot, take that play to the other side of the field the ball stays in play.

Laulilii up against Cobbo, mmmmm?

My only concern re LL being up against Cobbo is the height diffnce & hence reynolds targeting him re kicking.Otherwise LL will be fine as he’s a lot more than an avg trier.Conversely Faatape belongs in NSW cup.

I don’t think there is anything between them. Very much the same player.

To be fair to Faatappe, he is a centre, and agree, he is not at NRL standard, but I thought he had a good game, except for that kick at the end.

It's about the best team we can pick this week. Really looking forward to see how Latu goes for a full game at half, and the dynamic between him and Galvin.

Latu getting a full game at halfback, the return of Luke Laulilii and May getting another chance to measure himself about a top line prop like Haas are the three things I'm looking forward too.

I suppose that’s why Benji fast tracked the kid to replace Fataape after only 1 game in NSW cup after a long layoff
Proof will be in the pudding happy to eat the humble pie if it comes my way. Laulilii is an enthusiastic kid, he has a go and I’d be happy to see turn into To’o mk2, but except for his debut he hasn’t made a mark yet and any horse can fluke a race on a given day. Jury is out.

And as far as Benji making decent coaching decisions jury is out on that too. Bloke sends Latu out last week who shows plenty of guile and great judgment to score a ripping try, takes him off when we have the game by the scruff of the neck and puts Twal back on, a bloke who works his arse off but couldn’t score a try or set up a play to save himself.

Agree re jury been out on Benji & I’m certainly concerned about him succeeding.
However with the talented kid he only debuted last season & is in infant stage of his career.I see something special in him albeit I wish he were a little taller but he certainly punches way above his weight.I hope he can avoid any further serious head knocks & blossoms into a top draw player for us.Re the broncos game I just hope he holds his own coz he’s up against a formidable opponent in Cobbo plus Reynolds’s laser accurate kicking game after having only played 1 nsw cup game in 7-8 months.

I agree with this.
As far as head knocks go, there's a big crackdown on this and players will be instructed to stay down if there is any contact.
This might help players like Luke play his natural and energetic running style.

Reckon we get spanked. Haas will run for 200ms, Reynolds will kick us to death, Staggs running at Doeuihi, Luke makring Cobbo, Walsh will get his mojo back. Sadly I reckon this will be like the last two times we've played Brisbane. They get out to a big 30+ lead, then we score a few junk time tries.

This was a pretty stupid decision wasn't it.

According to Fox game stats Faataape ran for something like 56m for the game last week, throw in his lack of smarts and his poor defence then I don't see how he is unlucky not to be in the side this week.

I still don’t believe Luke is a winger. It’s like because he’s short and stocky they just assume he can be a Too clone. It’s a total waste of the talents he has. Guy has great footwork and a solid passing game, he is not a battering ram and has already had 4 concussions in his short career. He should be training at right centre and backup fullback, he is a better fullback then Mason in fact I don’t think it’s even close

I wasnt aware we took Latu off, he was braining it as that middle link man. Yes in hindsight that was a poor decision from benji

Imagine having Latu out there at lock for the rest of the season effectively giving us a creative 5 man spine! And as a cherry on top they can all (?)defend one on one!
