Can we try not to dwell on the Ponga stuff up. There were a few moments we blew great opportunities, Safiti break in the set after a try passing the ball in front of Pearce which he couldn’t get to, and let’s not forget the teams 1st half fumbles.

The email that Annesley sent out to clubs today seems to be in direct response to Melbourne's tactics against us in this game. On NRL 360 they highlighted some of their grubbery, in particular, Smith. I know we weren't good enough in the first half but that was disgusting by the Storm all match. I'll be glad when Smith is gone from the game. The whole club is a blight on Rugba League.

It was the end of the game, hardly a turning point. Newcastle should have got their act together in the first half and not went to the break 18-2.

Unfortunate this penalty was given but we lost that game ourselves.
Gave us no chance to retain momentum in defence - simple. Put us beyond reach. We had a chance to gain some respect.

They've changed their tactics from wrestling to laying around in the ruck. O'Brien mentioned how much quicker they played the ball. We couldn't because we had to step around one of their players laying there. There has to be an effort to clear the ruck.

Absolutely. Their illegal tactics put us off our game and didn't allow us to play the fast style that suits us. Shame we didn't get a fair crack but I'm glad that everyone can see that and have called Melbourne out on it. Still, them cheating in the ruck didn't force our players to drop the ball. The one that got away for sure.

True. We were complacent. It's what I fear against Brisbane. A level playing field helps and especially helps when you wake up and take the game seriously.
