It’s more important than you think and I’ll leave you with how Penrith are playing without Luai with how we are playing with Luai

the guy is chirpy as f**k and just energises every player on that field
I believe the pennies management used to call him the CEO (chief energy officer), I think he's going OK, Benji makes the point in the presser, that he's not only playing a new role, he's also playing on the other side to what he's used to. I don't guess his shoulder is 100% either.
The spine, I think has had 3 games together, we have 2 super experienced guys and two future superstars, I'm confident we'll get there, no point in peaking now.

I can't believe what I'm reading about who's the worst, and that we should stick with them.

We've just started for Pete's sake. This was one of the few times we played at full strength. We need more if it, not swapping and changing for the sake of it.
Luai comes from a different system and both player have similar attributes. They need time and training together to get better, that's all.
We have become one of the best defensive teams in the comp and we are causing teams into unforced errors.
Attack will come. 24pts is enough to win a game allbeit against a weaken side.

2 points with big clear as day.. chunky shit to work.on...that's a great value win!
Nup thats a big NO from me ... A team
that is a serious contender for a finals finnish fights their arse to keep that game at zero tries . Its a win yes , but they will never get an opposition that shit again. That should have been 40 plus for us.

I agree with all of that...what I meant was I'd rather 2 points with obvious stuff to address than a lucky win that can be glossed over old madge style

Bula is very under rated, even by our supporters, guy just keeps getting better.

I'm one who has definitely underrated him. I thought he was an OK player, but probably not a guy you'd want in such an important position. However he has been sensational this year. If anything, we should be utilising him more often.

Well apart from 2 points ... that was a seeping herpes sore.. f**king hopeless! The only positive thing they could prove in that game was to keep an opposition scoreless and once again its totally beyond them!
Our halves have been f**king atrocious managing a game , they have both been 2nd grade, Im no Brookes apologist but fmd! can anyone tell me what these 2 have done any better then him ?
Cant believe im so pissed after a win !!
I wouldn't be too annoyed about it.

We probably dragged you down to our own level a bit today. You did what you needed to get a win and a solid addition to your F/A.

Lets go Tigers top 8.

To clarify where im coming from.. We have all seen some wins here and there over the last decade... I have just been waiting to see something different to show we can buck the long lived normal trend . Its been years since we put 50 on a side or kept them scoreless. We had that chance today and it just looked like what the woodern spoon teams from the last 3 years would have produced in that game.

I mentioned in another thread that we got dragged down by our opposition

hope you guys get it sorted soon, I’d much prefer the knights over most of the other teams in the comp

Nah you are better then what you dished up tonight. if we played the same im sure your would have expected your side to completely dominate the score board.

Your last sentence...attack yes...defense no....last 3 years it was nothing like this.. I think we will have those emphatic wins and before too long...there's still a fair bit of genuine toughness to build and the weapons are there but really just HAVE TO stick with the vision they're building towards...maybe more ambitious than we know?...
How's that for glass (more than) half full? LOL

Our best spine player so far and it's daylight second. The other three need to step up big time.

I really think it's the spine players that aren't performing apart from Bula. There is no excuse either. Our forwards and outside backs are going great.

We have changed heaps, one of the best defensive teams in the comp.
Today was our first full strength team playing together.
We probably would have lost all our games thus far with previous rosters and coaches. Throw in the head office too.
What round is it? Are we 0-6?

Imo the hype over Galvin is a bit much. He is not overly fast and his skill level is nothing exceptional, if you want your playmaker to continually run across field, put in the odd poor kick and sh#t pass than he is fantastic.

We have played what 5-6 rounds .. That’s easily Galvins worst game..watch the replay see how many mistakes/ misreads he made ...I’m guessing he would have made more mistakes / misreads than any other half in the comp in that game ..there has been zero improvement only regression...he makes decisions out of the blue instead of what suits the situation he seems to have no confidence in his outside backs just because it’s 2 on 2 or even a potential overlap.. he will just miss it or disregard and think I’ll just run myself, again and again...or put 2 consecutive overweighted grubbers in..or a pass that we’ve seen too many times this year..this is not a player that is young and we need to be patient.. Watch Walker he was young and he was worth investing in..like I said previously regardless of how well the rest of the team play (and to me they are playing well)the halves being unable to choose and execute from 5-10 out will be the difference between the finals and an embarrassing finish to the season.. there is no sign things will be any different any time this year

Galvin botched multiple.plays by either ballhogging, throwing shit passes or poor kicking. Basically might have had another four tries if he didn't screw up.

Luai was good, his kicking game was really solid for us and field position, his organisation of the team was first class, his defence outstanding and he started showing attacking flair. I think some people are just looking to criticise him in here.

Bula and both hookers were sensational. Toa and Turuva very good as well. The forwards were magnificent.

Lastly, the Brailey strip and Turuva calls basically cost us two tries. So scoreline is flattering for the Knights.

Yes our attack is still messy, but I see signs of where it is going and I'll take a win after the last two weeks and we can build from here.

That’s Exactly how I figured it Das!
Actually those numbers just popped into my head but glad you showed how it can be done. And the drama yes..no doubt we can’t avoid it..count down 30 minutes

Well...pretty close...1 point out on the points spread and they did get their unconverted consolation try at the hooter ( close enough)
