I might be in the minority here but I am fine with Crossland being picked at 6. His involvement is always pretty poor in the halves but he's got Hastings running the show. He's ok at distributing the ball and is another kicking option if needed. The way Hastings and Miller are running the attack I think Crossland will be fine playing a minimalistic role.

6. Phoenix Crossland

Just because we knew it was coming, doesn't make it hurt any less. Ugh. Go on Phoenix, prove me wrong...

Good to see Mann on the bench- I prefer when he plays utility compared to trying to slot him into the starting 13 somewhere. All Crossland needs to do is defend well and shovel the ball on- he’ll do well if he can follow the plan and not overplay his hand.

Johns also earns his place in the side after last week.

Tohu Harris a big in for them.

No Barney.

Going to be a good test for us. The Wazzies are legit this year.

Tbh I think no Barney is a plus for them in this game. Good chance he would have done something stupid.

Crossland has definitely improved this year. Still don’t want him as a starting half. Hopefully he can just do his job without any major f**k ups.

Tohu was named last week too and has an injury which usually has a 2-3 week recovery. It’d be a big effort for him to get up for this one, especially with all the travel.

Crossland is unfortunately a necessary evil given the lack of other alternatives. I actually prefer Crossland in the halves as opposed to hooker because he’s less likely to get someone killed with a hospital ball when he’s more or less just shuffling the ball well before the line when he’s in the halves, his distribution from dummy half makes Danny Levi look like Danny Buderus.

If he can keep his f**k ups at a minimum and maybe pull out one decent play (like his kick to Dom) then that would be nice.
