I dont know what was worse, the officiating or the first 10 mins after halftime. First tackle, blatant shoulder charge to the head, playon. 3mins later we get a penalty, blatant strip, play on. The absolutely insane Fainu hip drop who didnt even land on Tuilagi. Moses whacking a bloke across the head as hes about the score, the Knights literally had a guy binned yesterday and the bunker said it was more to do with an illegal act (high tack;e) stopping a try. I havent blown up about the referees once this year, yet that was borderline cheating what we witnessed today. We didnt get a single set restart.

All that considered how we let the Eels get the momentum in that 10 minute period was all on us. We lost our heads and going down by 16 mid way through the second half is always going to be difficult to claw back.

I dont think it was really a reflection on the club, today was a fairly high level game. Easter Monday always has wackiness, controversy etc. Both clubs treat this more like a finals game then a regular club match. We were also onto our 5th spine comb in 7 rounds which Id bet is the highest in the comp and had a guy playing his first game in the halves for more than 2 years. To me the effort was there, we were just dumb + had absolutely nothing go our way. The scroreline flatter the Eels at the end, they scored 2 tries picking up our mistakes as we were chasing points.

We desperately need someone players back, really hoping Latu is fit for next Sunday but would say its unlikely. Hunts impact off the bench was massively missed.

A generous appraisal vic.

On the scales between referee conspiracy and WT breakdown, i'm going with the latter.

Benji did seem a bit casual this week, like the emotion would carry the boys through.

Id be surprised if we dont turn up a bit more determined next week, hopefully players back.

I dont think anyone who knows their footy would attribute the loss to a lack of Galvo. We did that on our own thanks!

It didint help, but hes not a match winner yet.

And of Galvo, that security was over the top. Thats just playing into Satans hands, or if we needed security a bit less obvious.

We may not lke Galvo, but i dont know any wt member who wouldnt try to help him if he got mugged walking off the park. Even woofy would be in on it.

Anyway lads, im devastated too, but im not spending the week on my knees.

I saw a lot of similarities with our game against the Dogs Phantom. Yes the refs were very poor but the performance just wasn't good enough. The only difference is that the Dogs are genuine contenders while the Eels are only in contention for yet another Spoon.

Today was a big test for this side to see how well it could to with the adversity posed on them during the week. Sadly, we failed that test.....and failed it badly.

From minute one, we just did not approach the game with the right mindset. We did not have the same focus to detail that we have had in every other game this season. It showed through the reactions of Turuva who had not the best of week's off the field. I hope management are checking in with him as he has shown up every other week....but did go missing today.

Im very concerned about our halves. Galvin is now clearly no longer an option for many reasons. Douehi is just too slow for that role while Luai (I hate to say it) is doing precious little to get things going. 20 mins in the second half just doesn't cut it for a guy we paid a shitload of money for. I know his role in lifting this club in many ways has been significant off the field. Thing is, if he doesn't get it done on the field, it loses its effect.

Im now genuinely worried about how our season is going to go from here. I'd like to think the boys are still very much together but that is going to be put to the test against a shark side that is not playing that well but loaded with talent.
Yea Turuva had a lot of heavy shit to deal with this week.. If our hearts dropped when the news came through about the legal letter, imagine how Turuva felt.. believing it was all his fault..I’m going to put it down to the sheer emotion that the boys had to deal with. Luai was at the centre of some major stress with that media scrum. I know he handled it but it would have taken a lot of emotional energy from both captains.. and the boys.. This week would have been one hell of a distraction with an emotional toll we need to consider..when it came time to ram it home I think the mental strength wasn’t there, esp with the ref being relentless, and fear crept in when we were on there line..That’s how it looked. Including the very average passing at key moments including the bungled repeat set kick by AD at the end that could have got us there..he’s better than what we saw today as are the rest

I admit I was sucked in this week with all the talk of team first, brotherhood etc…these fkn polys only know how to big note themselves on their stupid vlogs and talk shit at pressers.
Isaac Moses fcked Richo annd Benji all week long, Mitchell Moses fcked Luai and the playing group today even more thoroughly.
Nothing has changed. Sharks next week. Here comes the 50 pointer.

I think once we caught up, it was incumbent upon us to maintain the rage, but we fell away.

Our game management and discipline was sorely tested and to their credit, some of their players had well above average games. Ryles did a good job.

But we werent ourselves by this years standard.

The back end made me grimace.

Atrocious officiating aside, my goodness what a collective dumpster fire. Not even getting Sukkar on the field to assist our bench rotation? Insanity. Naden was behind a step or 2 and Toa/Turuva were like strangers with the mistakes and out of position attack they had. Did they sh*t themselves on the stage? Were they that afraid of Mitchell Moses? Jarome Luai was very disappointing and if that's him "taking control" then wow, it's going to be a long season.

On another point - I hate how we take our home games to that freaking CommBank. I hate the Eels fanbase so much and they give it back to us. Why??? Was Homebush or Moore Park not an equally enticing option? The Easter Monday match should always be at Accor Stadium to generate a big crowd.

Mitch Moses mentioned Bula's name a few times in the after match interview. With Bula being a Isaac Moses client, it is almost like he is calling him over as well.

Certainly don't sack Bula if he does the right thing by us, but any sign of bs, let him go.

And DO NOT recruit Moses players to this club in the future. Easts are already wary of him and you can bet your ass that Gould would be as well.

That first 10 mins after the break is starting to be a concern, isn't it. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it either.

It was just BS, and it was reviewed, how the f**k did they get it wrong. And ended up being a game changer at the time.

Can you encourage Terrell to slip an innocent coat hanger on Addin next game? Will go a long way helping your beloved neighbour in magic round.

Cheers brother 🤙

That ref yesterday had to be on the take, the WT didn't help themselves but he contributed to there performances or lack there of. Moses should have been in the bin for attacking the head of a player while the sin binning of the Parra fulll back was harsh IMO. The favourable decisions from the kickoff going the eels way was astonishing.

I think with the FB being sin binned, then it should have been a penalty try.

Yeah, that one yesterday was a joke, Fainu didn't even get charged? The resulting penalty by the bunker had a massive impact on the game.

Whereas, Kelma Tuilagi gets three weeks for the head hit but nothing during the game.
