Well as you know, im interested in communications and regret not formally studying linguistics.

But almost all the time, a journo for a big media is going to start off with the assumption that they are trusted.

But more lay people are coming to understand a broader picture.

Im not a conspiracy theorist ( i dont believe refs cheat) but i dont totally trust journos.

You look at how bad the questions are in press conferences are. Bennet is a key exponent of manipulating questions, like a politician. Benji is learning, but no one is really asking him tough questions often.

And if he doesnt want to answer a question, the journo should ask why wont he?

Lots of communication issues in league, the game could do better.
Andy Warhol once said "Only believe half of what you see and none of what you read" when discussing the media.

That was great advice back in the 70s and its even better advice today.

And before i go, the LO experience is a rite of passage for the WT fan.

Whatever she lacks in facilities, she pays back a hundred times in atmosphere.

Its a massive fellowship, people of all bacgrounds snd interests, from people who look discarded to families to millionaires.

People without any colours to people with face paint as a minimum.

You start to feel good about your fellow humans again.

Thats why its considered spiritual.

Its amazing that these qualities arent properly valued by corporate nongs.

If you can manage it, i reckon the hill is just about the best place to watch a game of footy live.

I'm ok with Benji choosing what he wants to answer...he and everyone else knows the questions are just bait for quotable quotes that usually blow back onto the club after they've been highlighted out of context. The journos and their for profit employers don't own the club...the members are the only one's entitled to genuine answers...the journos are only there to prod those bandana wearing bears along

There was a Galvo thing i think.

I didnt bother reading it.

My issue is his overt and co-vert self promotion, i can only ingest so much of it.

A lot of these media people treat people as stupid.

Most of the NRL journalists are genuinely pathetic.

They dont actually promote the sport.
They certainly don't promote the WT. We are the life blood of the South West corridor thru to the Inner West.
There are thousands of WT people tuning into fox and reading the journo's spiel so why can't they support us for a change.
I was thinking the other day, how big the crowds would be if WT played in the preliminary final and clawed their way into the GF and won.
We would be hanging onto the rafters.
Then the journos would all be grovelling and begging us for interviews.... only to be told, sorry, wait your turn.

Agree with you Das. I actually think Benji is doing an incredible job considering his lack of experience.

I love the members first emails. We get the announcements before anyone else and I feel important to Richo and what he is trying to do. He is true to his word or at least is making an effort to correct the previous shambolic board's stuff ups.
Sometimes the previous head office would feed the journos so much crap and unaware of the backlash that their stupid decisions would bring upon us.

Thank you @Nutz

Well any allegation that dropping him wasnt in his best interests will be dispelled once he hears the boos and jeers throughout the match.

Im not even sure the players will appreciate him doing something good now -that hes a self-styled hero and wants to chase the big money.

Hes resilient, but career-wise hes with a club on a bit of a surge with a marquee half and he might have been better to ride along, learn and contribute.

I think hes very good for his age, but not marquee.

But he took Issacs word for it as did his parents.

At the moment, his market value is primarily built on expectation.

My criticism of Benji is broader, his approach to games, his rotations, his pr, sonetimes his selections But Galvo, if we believe Pole, hes been given rhe run of the club snd its been working for him, so im not sure why hes adopted such a negative tone against Benji except on advice.

He shouldnt gave gone public with it. I mean we might have leaked it, but he didnt have to go down that path.
Its been unhelpful to him and the club. Benji did well with it, im glad he acknowledged his critics.

And the players turning their backs on him, you wouldnt forget that. It was an individual choice.

If we are talking furures, i have to be honest and say i like the parramatta fullback. That would but pressure on Bula to stay. But as a back, he could be anything this kid. I said it awhile ago to their forum and most of them chortled. Now they are revising their opinion. So on a futures basis, hed be on my last round of candidates. Signed until 27 alas.
Unbelievable hey, hang on it's us I'm talking about so I take that back, it's believable:)
LG's address to the playing group went down like a lead fart. He must have said nothing but self promotion garb.
He's too immature to take this all in.
I still stand by my apprenticeship scheme that I've been harping on About.
If one was in place, none of this crap would be happening and the RLPA would grow a spine and people like Moses would die off because players would do more self managing.

If you get a chance, I posted a Terrell May blog on his thread the other day, most of it is full of shit. But the first few minutes is in the sheds after a game (Knights from memory) just pay attention to Galvin in it, quite sad really.

I looked at the vid. What didn't you like? (apart from being dragged out, he needs to do some editing)
I did say, just watch Galvin in the first few minutes in the dressing shed, he's wondering around alone and nobody appears to be talking to him or paying him any attention.
I didn't watch much of the rest of it. It's not my music.

There's nothing wrong with repetitive, tuneless music and a constant monotone voice. Get with it man! I'm giggy with it bro....it's all about the money.

Galvos horoscope #1

"Blurter"

As the sun goes around the earth again, you can be pleased with yourself for shunning and damaging your team mates, coach, fans and sponsors. Whats $1m a season anyway when you can dog the Wests Tigers, the club who made you.

Beware of the wicked and evil Benji who tried to protect you from wrestlling with Royce Hunt and sparing you from poentially life long and fatal injury. Its your right to be harmed if you want to.

This week, as per usual, you are the only person who matters on earth. Everyone else can get f**ked.

Ignore the boos and jeers this weekend because as Issac taught you, selfishness and greed is the way to eternal happiness.

Do not forget your ritual hour in front of the mirror each day, smiling, winking and nodding at your greatness.
