The sad part is it's all so predictable. We all feel negative about the performances during the week, but there's a little tiny part of us that looks at the teams on paper and thinks there's at least some chance we improve and perhaps even get a win. Upsets happen in the NRL all the time, maybe it's our turn to produce a decent game and get the best of an opponent that is only average itself. But week after week the team does live down to our mostly low expectations, with no signs at all that there is any improvement on the horizon.

At some point the coach's position does become untenable. You can't have an NRL team playing this consistently bad, with the worst completion rate despite also being the least adventurous, and never showing up with the kind of intensity you would expect from a team copping this much criticism and needing to turn it around. The other lesser teams are still coming up with the odd quality performance that would give their fans some hope. We are truly awful at every element of the game. Can it go on like this endlessly?

I just don't want anyone talking to me about how good Leo Thompson is ever again please. Just so sick of hearing how over-rated this guy is. The Dogs have made a blunder with that one. They can probably accommodate it anyway given the strength of their squad and system now... but yeah, waste of cap space for them.
He’s so intimidating he scares himself lol

No you see, you actually can. All you need is a generational talent to pull enough games out of their arse to limp into the finals by the end of the year and a large enough chunk of the supporter base + club administration will have collective amnesia and give you a pass mark. It's dire because we don't demand any better. Not enough fans do, and the club admin certainly doesn't. This is what we get because this is what we keep signing up for.

Our squad is better than this. The players are capable of way more than this. They might not be a team of rockstars, but look at what the Raiders can always do with an unfashionable roster. Say what you want about Ricky and his team, but Stick gets way more out of way less. Ricky would murder a family member for access to a superstar like Ponga.

I was going to ask, is footy standard shit this year or is it just all of our games?

I don't think I've enjoyed any of our games this year.
Most of it is us for sure. But some of the footy this year has been really poor as well.
