Yeah give me the days when we were a lock for 14th and tip-toeing the salary cap line every year.
Or perhaps there are other alternatives too. We really need massive reinforcements for next year... and knowing that this year is now at least as bad as last is just bloody depressing and frustrating.

We can't be willing to cop it if this is still the standard in 12 months. I reckon that's how long Brown has to show us some sort of improvement. This year is already toileted.

Was today the right direction? Look at the list of off-contract players. How much better are we going to be in 2018? Maybe we will reach the lofty heights of the Stone years and win 8 games.

One blowout game in over a month and you take the chance to shriek from the rooftops.

Do you have a macro that posts all your bitching simultaneously on LU and Marathon Stadium or do you just spend your time copy-pasting to quench your Schadenfreude?

I didn't expect this year's results to go well even before all the injuries/Mullen/Hodkinson.

I'm not happy but I at least know now that we are shit because we are playing at half the salary cap. I like the ambition we are displaying.

The wheels fell off today but it has been a rough year. Kostjasyn, Mullen, Pauli, Korbin gone before a ball is kicked. Hodkinson is a disaster. Our two best forwards with long-term injuries.

Let's see how the recruitment goes this year I guess.

I'm not as worried about our performances this year as I am that most of the major players on the market have been snapped up already. A long list of excuses will be run out, but at the end of the day we have cash to burn and nothing to show for it. Holding onto cash forever isn't a winning strategy.

I think we would have done much better this year had our fortune not been horrendous with player availability, but I guess that's just our role. Even if we were running 11th-12th, I'd still be worried about our recruitment at this stage.

We missed Scott and Bird who if not for circumstance it sounds like we would have got. I think we have been really unlucky. We will get one soon and it will be like dominoes from there I hope but it's not like every good player is flat out rejecting us.

In saying all this, maybe I have too much faith. I guess we will see. Maybe Brown's plan won't work even with the best intentions and planning.

Exactly, I really don't want to give excuses out for terrible performances like this because I'm over them. But the team we ran out there today is worth about half the salary cap, if that.

And that team would have been even more inexperienced then any team we ran out on the field at any stage last season. Given last season we still had Mullen, Uate, Sims bros, Smith in the side. Of the team today only 4 players had more then 50 games NRL experience. 20 year old skipper Sione, Pete, Starling and Gagai the only one to have 100+. That's gotta be serisouly unheard of that level of inexperience in a side.

Brown really has not had any luck. Our best and highest paid player banned from the sport, our other marquee player playing so badly he's been dropped for Jaelen Feeney... Kostjasyn gone, our two best forwards gone, Korbin the cat running from the sinking ship to play for minimum wage, Pythian gone. All that and we were already coming into the year with a terrible side that was under the cap by s*itloads.

Interesting the commentator said Starling is 26, then our other five starting forwards 22 or younger.

Wade Graham was the youngest Sharks starting forward in last year' grand-final at 26.

I am genuine about chasing Ryan Hoffman if he is going cheap. Think he would be good for us and provide great experience for cheap.

King 22
Sione 20
Stone 19
Levi 21
Saifiti 20

I agree too mate I think he's the type of guy we need. However it sucks he's a backrower not a front rower. Genuinely the only place in the team not needing that sort of strengthening.

If we bring Hoffman in we have Hoffman, Buhrer, Sione and Wardle all to play edge backrow (while Barnett plays lock). Also we have Sam Stone who will only continue to get better and is already more then capable of first grade minutes. Sione should never play in the backs again, he is now a forward. Im just not sure we need him, even if he was very cheap. It's the spine of the team, props and halves that need urgent and major upgrades, not the edges.

So, a hypotheitcal question for all the emos in here - yes Slots, especially you.

Now that Brown has done all the 'easy' work (because it's easy to get rid of the deadwood some would say) and we have a treasure chest of cash waiting to be spent, IF (remember this is hypothetical) Brown was to be sacked tomorrow, how long would the emos in this thread give the new coach to buy quality recruits (unless the emos are happy with buying shit) and turn the ship around before going all emo again???? Please, think carefully and be honest. I'm very interested in hearing ALL your opinions to that question.

The second hypothetical question I would like answered by the emotional ones is.... what do you consider a successful turnaround by the new coach???

For the record, I'm in agreeance with most of JM's posts so I'm not going to repeat what he has said but maybe I also have too much faith???

I know we are in more urgent need of other positions but ever since I can remember it feels like we have been overly comfortable with our backrow stocks just because there are a million of them around. Cronulla had Graham, Lewis and Gallen who are better than all our starting backrowers. Didn't stop them from signing Heighington and Bukuya who their side wouldn't be the same without.

While Yates is a regular in our squad I'm sure we have space. No reason Hoffman can't play lock off the bench IMO or Sione shift in there.

100% with JM and Spot on. What Brown is and has done is exactly what we were all calling for for years. Get rid of the over priced and gutless driftwood. He has. Thank you brown. I don't think he thought it'd be so hard to get players to sign... but it has, they aren't goin for a June 30 sig to quick fix to cover injuries as we need that cash to chase big future signings, that will happen. Honestly if we had Burher, Kos and mullen avail we would have a couple more games this year. No doubt. And still think when we do get them back later in year a couple more wins will come. But until then. Back your team, back the coach and Mooney that they are doing the job we've asked for.

Jeezus that was tough to watch live. Big ups to all you fellas that have been getting to home games every few weeks to watch this shambles over the last 24 months. Any more than one game a year would break me

Had a chance to speak to Sione after the game quickly and I can see why he got the captaincy. A more well spoken, polite and just outright nice bloke you will not meet. Very mature 20yo. The other guys I spoke to briefly seemed gutted about the loss. Hearing in their voice how hurt they were made being there a little easier to take. They are clearly giving everything they have.

It was very hot out there in the sun and fatigue played a huge factor. Dropped balls and huge defence from the Titans meant e had no ball and shit just got out of hand quick

I'm honestly at a loss as to how this gets better. It probably doesn't in 2017 I guess

Good work being there. Looked like a solid contingent of knights and there. And it will get better, once we get some key players back from injuries mid year. Will improve team greatly.
