Match thread Round 14 vs Warriors

Sensational work from Pete to get us on the board first in NYC...Warriors have had us under the pump since the start of the game...he sprints out of the line and takes an intercept, runs 3/4 of the field by the time 2 Warriors players reeled him in...has the presence of mind to duck left and they slip past him, then passes to Harmony Hunt coming up on the inside who scores under the posts!

Looks like we have Davis, Roberts and Will Smith all on the field, with Smith playing at right centre.

We've spent almost the entire half up the wrong end of the field...but Will Smith has just set up 2 great tries! A few dropped balls haven't helped our cause, and overall you could say the Warriors have played better so far, though they have made a few mistakes in the last 20 mins as well.

Tetevano takes a good hitup, and Roberts gets the ball at 1st receiver, scoots in quickly behind the ruck, draws the fullback and passes to Roberts who ran under the posts.

For our 3rd try Mason took a good hitup, though Redman almost got tackled at dummy half, got the ball to Davis who sees that the Warriors numbers haven't recovered on the right hand side, gets the ball to Will Smith, who beats his centre with pure speed, sums up the situation with lots of Warriors players close to him, kicks back towards the posts where we have a few chasers, and Pete scores!

Davis *just* misses a field goal right on half time from 40m out and a bit to the right as well.

11/19 completions from us tells you how poor we were for much of the first half...and we had the breeze at our backs too.

Ailaomai gets a good ball from (I think) Finn, gives the goal posts a good hammering before cheekily putting the ball down about 5cm inside the dead ball line.

Then the Warriors promptly put the ball out on the full from the kickoff...oh and then N Simpson throws a forward pass to Ailaomai, bugger!

Warriors drop the ball inside their 20 metre line...we get the ball back, good 2nd man play to Roberts, who passes to (i think) Cook, who just draws and passes to one of our two unmarked men out wide (Will Smith) who scores!

Smith now has 4 line breaks, 2 try assists and 1 try - all from centre!

Warriors didn't let a point in against Saints last week, and we of course let in 60 something against Penrith...quite a turnaround so far!

Roberts runs sideways looking for a gap in the tired and somewhat lazy Warriors defence, and gets it! Not even we will lose the game from here

Will Smith takes the conversion...and gets it too...now its Knights 34-10 after 72 mins.

We're all over the Warriors now...they drop the ball 5m out from our line and we go 60m up the field from Roberts and Davis...they never really recover over the next 2 tackles while we get set up, and from another 2nd man play, (I think) Roberts puts in a kick behind the line for our two unmarked players out wide, and Will Smith grounds the ball!

Knights 38-10 with 1 min to go

As another Smith would say, a comprehensive victory by our NYC team - the Warriors threw a fair bit at us, and probably created nearly as many chances as we did, but our cover defence (and Pete at fullback) was pretty spot on in snuffing out almost all the Warriors chances!

Even though we fairly dominated the Warriors in the 2nd half, we still spend 61% of the game in our own half!

First grade is as per program except for Lulia in for Mad Dog, who hasn't recovered from tonsilitis apparently.

I'm listening to it on the radio, and the commentators are basically backing up what many people on here have been saying for some time...Dureau is woeful and not first grade material. If we dont sign Orford I will be royally p!ssed off! His attack is terrible, his defence is worse and his kicking game (apart from being able to kick 40/20s) is also pathetic.
Where the hell did we get this guy from?

You forgot his dropped balls, his knock-ons and hospital passes and this is in 1/2 a game a football
