City country is a joke ... john skandalis proved it had no meaning as a trial for origin ... it is a relic from the past that should be done away with permanantly.

Do you blame him really???

The guy has played on the games biggest stages and bleeds red and white...

he wants to play for the dragons the next day and im fairly certain he feels his 31yo body mightnt be up to it if he tried backing up....

BTW IMO he has prob played his best footy this year that i have seen him play since 2006!!

Who cares? its some micky mouse game that has no basis for Origin selection whatsoever. Cooper shouldnt have to fake injury every year just to get out of it, it shouldnt be on the rep calendar to begin with.

no where does the story say he does not want to play for country. It states dragons officials called to say he could not train till later in the week. The country officials decided to err on the side of safety. It unfair to say he faked a injury the country officials ruled him out

Can't blame him, ask Daniel Abraham if he thinks City vs Country is a great game to be involved with............

I think Daniel Abraham would kill to play City Country now, considering he isn't even a full time player anymore.

I think some people misunderstand the purpose of City Country. These days it provides a major boost for a country region and the CRL in general. For that reason alone it's worhtwhile. If the state selectors fail to utilise it to pick their useless Origin team that's their loss.

It gets a bit suspicious when this is the 4th time it's happened. Can't blame anyone for thinking he's dodgy. Most players jump at the chance to play in city country and impress for origin selection. And for others it's the chance to have a rep jumper that they'd otherwise never see.

You'd think the selectors would know better ... this is the third time in my memory that Cooper has pulled out, but it could be more. It's still a rep game ... it should be an honour even if it doesn't lead to anything. With Jennings out, there's still a bit of a battle for the centre positions for NSW.

Anasta looked like he was bunging it on as well.

I'm pretty sure it's the 3rd time.

Gasnier at least once said the same thing & both played that weekend for Saints.

I just wish they'd all pull out of this useless match and let Geoff Carr take on Colin Love in ballet costumes. That would get the fans interested.
