The powers that be think they've got another Ben Barba when he's more like Bevan French. Interesting to see how Dufty's career progresses in any case.
Funny you should mention French, my eels mate tells me we are in talks with him.

Lomax should possibly be given a run at fullback just to see how he goes but I would stick with Dufty. Billy Slater had the errors under the high ball in his early years and only got better the longer he played.

You need to stick with Dufty as he provides that x factor in attack.
Do we stick with Aitken for the same reason. He still has the original errors he had a few years ago.

Sorry mate, had to laugh. You and I have locked horns over the last year plenty of times about Dufty but I've never heard his speed being questioned, thats a new one.

I think he is fast but I seriously dont know if he is as fast over the length of a football field as his initial pace would lead you to believe. He is lightning off the mark but from what I have seen in games he does not seem to be quite up with the really fast players for outright top speed. This is just an observation watching games maybe Dragonsamy can give us more of an idea where he would sit for outright speed in the NRL. It maybe he was fatigued or who knows.

I think he is quick. Explosive off the mark and up there with the quickest in the game over the length of the footy field.
BTW, not sure how Samy could shed any light on how he compares for speed with other speedsters in the NRL?
They don't hold NRL races behind closed doors you know?

Could turn out ok. As far as I know, Addo-Car was only a fringe first grader when at the Tigers. They seem similar insofar as being (relatively) slightly built but very fast.

We all know that Dufty is lightning off the mark and high speed for the length of the field. Equal or better than most in the NRL. Speed and deceptive footwork in broken play has never been a problem.

During the ANZAC Day match the notion that Lomax is not quick was put to rest. He and Dufty chased down a flying Tedesco and combined well to end his run to the try-line. Unfortunately Rava was nowhere to be found.

I'd say Dufty needs a personal coach to help him improve his game. Hornby may have been a great fullback and half but not a good coach by the looks of it.

I'd like to see Lomax at 3 for the next couple of months and be there to replace Dufty if injured or fatigued. Aitken to the bench and stay there, he and Rava are the week-link of our backline. Pereira has had a below standard game over the last two rounds and really needs to lift for the game against the Eels.

The Eels will bomb Dufty and the right wing all game next week.

Pearson to right wing
Lomax to right centre
Maybe this will at least solve our right edge problem.

We also need Sims on the right edge and Frizell at lock as Frizell is not moving freely and needs to be replaced often at the moment.

Prop rotation to be Vaughan, Kerr, James and Lawrie
Backrow rotation to be Frizell, Sims, Aitken and Leilua.
And yes a hooker rotation of McInnes and Robson.
1. Dufty
2. Pereira
3. Lomax
4. Lafai
5. Pearson
6. Norman
7. Hunt/Field
8. Vaughan
9. McInnes
10. Lawrie
11. Leilua
12. Sims
13. Frizell

14. Robson
15. Graham
16. Kerr
17. Aitken

I believe this to be our best 17 at the moment.

A good team Possm

but Host misses out - not if Reece IS leaving?

And Field for Aitken please, as he can cover all backline positions & score a try from anywhere.

Turnstile to SeaEagles & be done with it

-he’s had 5 yrs of nothing
( Sorry he palmed Inglis once & passed a ball Thursdy)

But wait - he’s in the ‘leadership group’ & now bulletproofed eh Waterboy?

You fool no one mate

Deadwood is always so hard to shift

I said maybe Samy could provide some insight to his pace compared to the Addo Carrs, Roberts, etc not that he definitely could. I dont know whether there is some information floating around about players times over 40m, 100m etc. I'd imagine there is something available that recruitment officers refer to.

Possm, you name a different team on every page of every thread.

Might be time to stop bagging the coach for his team selections. It's obviously very difficult...

Don’t get caught up in this Dufty thing. Just because Dufty scores unbelievable trys ( OK his one Thursday was against the world champs and yes reminded some of Campsese’s famous World Cup run) scores length of field trys, on occassion has saved us from sure defeat. That’s all well and good.

But just remember we are crying out for a top quality fullback.

Why didn't Dufty go in hard and help Lomax instead of running past the tackle? To be 100% honest I have been disappointed with Dufty's outright speed in games, he is definitely quick off the mark.
I’m not claiming he’s the perfect player but to be honest I think you’re looking to find fault in the wrong places. He “ran past the tackle” because Tedesco propped. He then made a solid one on one tackle on Tedesco after Lomax missed him. He also outran Tedesco and Lomax over 50m, he has plenty of speed.
