Let's all have a good look tomorrow at Dufty's:
  • Line breaks
  • Line break assists
  • Tries
  • Try assists
  • Errors in attack
  • Tackle count
  • Missed tackles
  • Defensive errors
  • Times out of position
  • Tries let in
  • High balls caught on the full
  • High balls not caught on the full
  • Kick return metres
  • Metres run
Just write numbers against the above dot points and then compare the above figures to the other round 1 fullbacks. This is the only way we can get a true handle on Dufty's positive/negative impact in round 1.

These days I have enough trouble just following the play so, I know that I would not be able to produce accurate figures however, if some of you a willing to do this, I think it would be a good insite and information your fellow forum members would very much appreciate.

People always say how good dufty would go under a coach like Bellamy but l question how long would Bellamy tolerate Dufty's poor defence and effort at times before moving on and developing someone else?
Dufty, take leaf out of
Alan Langer's book.
Hit with ur hands, then
Slide those legs under
Them. Trip'm up.

NRL.com will have all those stats up tomorrow. Enjoy.

According to David Riccio in today's Sunday Telegraph, Hook is challenging Dufty to improve in more than just the things that can be quantified. These include communication with his defensive line and positional play. Dufty is said to be watching videos of the great full-backs in action (presumably Billy Slater and Tedesco) so let's see if anything comes from that.

Sounds like a coach this Griffin bloke.
I’m really hoping to see improvements across the team with Hook, Elliot, Gentle and even Soward all actually coaching.

If its raining or the ground is 'heavy' then comparing stats is irrelevant.

Comparisions can only he made when all players being compared share the same conditions.

Tex Hoy was fullback for the Knights, his tackle efficiency was 33%. But the Knights won. Corey Allen played fullback for the Dogs didn"t make any tackles. Dogs lost.
Btw the weather was listed as 'rainy'.

Papenhausen had a tackle efficiency of 100%, thats great, however, he only made 1 tackle. Storm won. The Rabbits fullback, the great Latrell, also had 100% tackle efficiency, he made 5. Rabbits lost.
Btw the weather was sensational for fast football.

All other games were listed as weather good or fair.

So, atm the only stats we can examine comparitively are the games Knights v Dogs amd possibly the Raiders v Tigers (unknown what the conditions are like in Canberra).

The drainage at Kogarah is superb so even with the rain hopefully the ground is in good condition

It’s been pissing down all day in Canberra. It will be a cold wet and slippery game. Probably suit the Raiders. It’s stopped now though.

Dufty has been rocks and diamonds for ages - he scored the try of the game then stuffs up just trying to catch the ball. Ramsey is injured so I can’t see any other option as FB. But let’s not overlook other highlights- no dummy half at play the ball, Hunt stuffing up the grounding that led to a try. Lomax flick pass to Rava on 3 Rd tackle, where Rava had a few inches of turf to play with .....etc etc ..

Dangerous with the ball but He’s just got to improve at the back, it’s that simple. Plenty of young talent waiting in the wings.
