^Nah I remember it was the knights game last year when ramsey went to high five him but norman wasn't trying to brush him off, he is very nonchalant whenever he scores a try so I can definitely see why it looked that way
Yeh i actually don’t mind it e.g the shake hands at best. The post try celebration these days are a bit of a wank imo

Matt Dufty, hides in defence....
That is why Hook doesn't like him...
He's never there (in the right position to make a tackle)

I'd like to ask Mr Griffin how he intends to have us scoring points without Dufty. We have been so sluggish on recruitment. Look at the rest of the lowlight clubs, getting signatures and going after players now. What are we doing? Why hasnt Norman been asked to look around? Not sure where this is heading but this was exactly the reason we ended up signing players like Norman. The last of a bad lot.

Granted, Dufty when he decided to have a go, looks the goods in the backline....
But doesn't do near enough. Plus he's no good in defense..
I think that really pisses, Hook off.

Agree, pressures on. For me he has gone missing a little since bursting onto the scene. Even when the team was firing. Need to see him go to the next level no at 1 or 6.
He won't do what Dufty does in attack but may be better at other aspects .....

I'm not saying that we have another Mary, but geez what's going on with all the rejects and journeymen we keep getting. I know that we still have Millward in our system and he most probably is the common problem, however, we are still a "Dad's Army" club as far as I am concerned.

To not have Dufty at the club will reduce most of our attacking ability but there is nothing we can do but see how Ramsey goes in the next several weeks. Ramsey to me is not a winger and his preferred position is fullback so let's see.

There are people who seem to consider Dufty on a par with poor old Paul Carriage.

On that basis, I'm not sure what they'll demand of Ramsey but the pressure is sure on.

Give me Hynes over Dufty, but we aren't even reported to be in the running. If we lose Dufty and sign Joe Bloggs we come out even more mind numbing in attack. That's not great no matter how good the defence.

I for one am keen to see how Ramsey goes this weekend. I hope that Hook allows him to play his natural game and play eyes up footy as I think that suits his style of play.
I’ve been impressed with Hunts efforts this year but we need a couple of man of the match efforts until we get our troops back on board.

I’m a Dufty fan.
I wouldn’t say he’s no good in defence.
But ok, he could improve.

Regardless of his defensive issues, his attack is up there with the best in the nrl.
Yes, the BEST.
What would you or hook do do with a player like Soward or Blacklock..
Sack them because of their defence issues.
I hope not.

And Ramsey?
As others have said, the pressure is on.
He has maybe 4 to 6 weeks to show us what he has got.

If he succeeds and claims the fullback position as his own, all credit to him.
But I would still like to see Duff somewhere in the 17.

I'd like to think that our new young gun backs will provide the attacking flair we are looking for. Ramsey and the Feagai brother have shown that they are ready to be first graders. In addition Amone and Sullivan have had successful stints when given the chance. I believe the likes of Sloan, Schiller and Stewart will also do well if given the chance.

Gone are the slugs Aitken and Lafai. Lomax and Bird have been a big upgrade in the centres and I'm sure you will see similar with the youngsters I've just mentioned.

It is in the forwards that our squad is looking pretty ordinary and so, recruitment will have to do their bit to get us up there with the better rosters.

I'd like to think that too however I don't know why we must put all our eggs in our junior basket. Realistically, half of those players won't survive the demands of NRL. And of those that do are they all going to be Sam Walker's, Brian To'o's, Luai's and Cleary's...nope. Call me a dreamer but the salary cap is there for a reason. We shouldn't be just trying to improve in player quality compared to what we have put up with in the past. We should be looking at the clubs that are killing it as a benchmark. You mention Ramsey. He may well turn out a legend of the club but he wouldn't be close to rookie of the year.

Recruiting a big talent at 1 or 6, along with a quality second rower would launch us back into the fold, while the young blokes fight it out for starting and depth positions in the squad. That should be our approach.

The same was said years back about Dufty being the future. He's been great but the rocks and diamonds thing is making us all second guess about the next contract...we can't picture him holding up that trophy. Garrick had huge wraps on here for ages..he doesn't really cut it. Clune is another junior touted as the next big thing. Solid, has a bit of a future but not setting the world on fire. Luciano was also going to be a saviour from the junior ranks. That didn't pan out. Field...Runciman...We need to recruit.

Dufty has the most people I can remember conflicted on whether to keep or not. It is a tough call regardless. My take is, if they do decide to let him go, they need a pretty good replacement and not a risky one where he may or may not come good. The need to be 100% it will be for the better of the team. His attack is really good and will be hard to replace as he can set up a try from nowhere which is rare. Ramsey has some time to show us his qualities. Let see how he goes. it's a shame he will be part of a weaker team with all the injuries/suspensions.

I think Dufty has 'asked' around as yet no takers. Hook, i think, has a figure in mind, if someone trumps that well he'll let him go, if not then he'll probably re-sign him at the price he has in mind. Up to Dufty then. As for scoring tries etc, don't underestimate what we have coming through.

Norman, well, I think he'll play out this year. Hook has already given notice with promoting Amone into the top 21, and of course Bud is another option, but he's injured at present.

I realize that this has been said before , however Ramsey - although he has added some bulk to his frame during the off-season - still requires more poundage on him to make a real fist of the fullback position , in fact 1st grade itself .

Tremendous attack as we have seen not only in the top grade team , but also in the C.C competition where he was so dangerous . The difference in the NRL is enormous and quite simply he is now playing against some real behemoths that could throw him around like a rag doll if they had a mind to .

Like the guy’s potential, but just appears somewhat fragile at the moment , still wish him the very best at fullback this weekend .
