I know many here place a lot of false hope on age level footy where defence is optional.

We always have good young talent coming through that have costed an arm and a leg in time and resources for Illawarra or St George to develop them. Propblem always is that after all of this:
Do they continue with SGI?
If they do continue with SGI, will they progress to be good first grade players?

Other clubs just pick the eyes out our junior ranks and other junior ranks and form a funnel of young players who usually progress to first grade.

Posed a question to a relative of one of our NRL players,Do they get actual coaching ( skills , mind management , strategy ) .He said no and when they dropped them rarely did they get reasons !

When these promising juniors reach CC & NRL their coaching/mentoring etc stops.Thats why i posed the question to George Dragon re these players before reaching CC. It must shit these former coaches to know their former players have much more skill to show ( offloading,kicking etc ) but not allowed due to the 4 hitups, spread wide & kick mentality.

So why are we saddled with this Illawarra baggage. We put in a lot of time and money into juniors who when it is time to produce for SGI they are enticed to go to the Roosters, who bye the way has spent no time or effort in developing them.

I'd say developing Clubs should be compensated each time a junior transfers to another club otherwise we are just mugs wasting or time and money for the benefit of other Clubs.
