Matt Moylan Appreciation Thread

I have a (probably demented) good feeling about Moyza this year.. was pairing well with Johnson before the injuries, and I think expectations are so low for him right now that he could do the job. Him and Hynes could complement each other well too.. must be something to him if Fitz is talking him up (and notably hasn't said a while lot about Trindall which is a shame).

I reckon he plays at least 15 or so games this year, maybe 20 but it'd be crazy to think he'll pull through unscathed or not be rested occasionally as a precaution for a niggle..

Hopefully we get more out of Moyza paying him 300k than we got out of him the the 4 years we were paying him 850k per year. I look forward to seeing him go around.

I remember when the nutjob Penrith fans were saying he was better than Hayne
I remember when our own nut jobs were claiming we got the better of the deal swapping Maloney for Moyza… would 100% have preferred to just give Jimmy the money he wanted….

I’d say it’s a panic precaution, Trindal gone for the first 2 rounds would of been the reason imo

Moylan has missed so much football over the last 3/4 seasons , has had a great pre season and is now physically fit which i'm sure is making him mentally fit , has only had 4 games and as he gets match fit and hardened his confidence will keep lifting and i believe we will start to see the player that we thought we might be getting , showing glimpses of what he can do , a bit more patience needed . A great foil for Hynes .

Moylan had a top game last night. He had 18 runs for 112 metres. The pass for the Talakai disallowed try was sublime.

He worked hard in defence and communicated well to keep the left edge working as a unit.

Moylan is staying patient and building into the season. He seems much more mature and less flighty.

Hynes had his least effective game in attack last night. He seemed a bit flustered by the conditions and didn't get his kicking game going. The positive is that he was more assured in defence and that the rest of the team played their roles. BB, Kennedy and Moylan were threatening.

Looking pretty good so far. Hynes and Moyza seem to compliment each other, early days, but plenty to be optimistic about. The class of 67 are setting the pace.
Mate I posted it on your forum last night after a few beers.
How good would it be for the '67 cousins, and the two clubs with the highest number of juniors, to be battling it out for the GF.
It'd be epic.

I could get on board with that. It would be pretty cool. Also have a really good mate thats a Sharks tragic. The lead in banter with him would be epic.

I had a look at the draw earlier today to see when we play you guys. I'm annoyed it's only once and not until July. Based on early form it would be a cracker of a game if we met now. I'm still finding it a strange sensation looking through the draw and hoping for tough opponents more regularly. Too many years of hoping for the opposite and maybe jagging enough wins to scrape into the finals. I'll savour it while it lasts.
