Des was sacked by Manly then sacked by Bulldogs then sacked by Manly again. Every time he has been sacked there has been controversy and turmoil.
You reckon he’d be the right fit for a dragons club in turmoil?
It would be a disaster, he’d be a shocking choice for coach.
I honestly think he got sacked from Manly for reasons not entirely in his control. His lawyers think so too.
The Manly playing group connections were jumping over church fences stabbing people and some of those precious first grade blokes were more ok with that than wearing an rainbow jersey.
They contracted to play footy, not to campaign for some kind of religious extremism. They can do that on their own time.
Thence it’s known that the group were unsettled anyways, the stellar and marquee treated differently than the factory player filth. Players were resentful. This is still the case up there.
Owners running a sneaky campaign of subterfuge. Penn said Des had a “ job for life”. His “job for life” lasted ummm about 4 weeks.
SGI and my club, chaos reigns supreme anyways, and I like Hook and I know ex players who think he is a good coach…but when young players are promised he won’t be there, he’s been significantly undermined.
Potter also springs to mind as well for SGI, he an enormous go with the dogs. He’d be great for any of the bottom 8 sides.
Des sides are often aggressive and have a go when he’s let loose. Being sacked by a club is not a crime because that’s trusting officials judgment and in many instances, they have less of a grip on reality than the coaches, who live and breathe their jobs.
Siebs has made another mistake going to Manly at the moment. They said they liked his humility about his catastrophic Broncos campaign. As we all know, his senior playing group and outside pro Kevvie forces were a disgrace. He worked out (after he’d had time to consider his career) its better to take it hard than die on the hill ( unlike the confused Albert) and he’s been rewarded. He’s walking into a complete dogs breakfast, they need a cull.
Our game runs on emotion and human frailty as much as the footy I suppose. That’s good and bad at once of course.
Just my view.
