It was definitely our former and previous Bulldogs centre Tim Lafai. Shows what wearing a different guernsey to the Red V can do to a player. Playing for the Dragons has more pressure than playing in a world cup game. He looked like he was enjoying himself. These Samoans will be hard to beat in the final and should they win, watch out for the next generation of the kids that are growing up out in the western suburbs of Sydney plus in Samoa itself.

With all the dramas swirling continuosly in the NRL Coaching ranks i find it a bit odd that this guy doesnt even rate a mention ..Has always performed well with Samoa and has now got them through to the Final against the Aussies which is no mean feat . Was assistant NSW coach when Daley was at the helm ...
Realise there was a major issue with Hadley some years back , but surely that wouldnt hinder his prospects anywhere
Is a bit of a fire brand but obviously the players enjoy playing under him
Would have to be ahead of some of the rookies and usual old brigade being mentioned
Dragons ?? Couldnt be any worse than what we have had and what we've got 🤔 🤔

I'll put it this way, Kevin Walters was considered a very good Qld Origin Coach. Has that made him a sure fire hit as an NRL First Grade Coach? Coaching a rep team for a few weeks a year is very different to the week in week out work of an NRL Head Coach.

I couldn't believe my eyes when watching Lafai perform against the POMS. He never put in a performance like that for the Dragons. Must be coaching and their ability to get him up for the game.
He did at times! We could never provide him with enough space or the game plan he needed; we’d just play block plays and go across field and hope and expect he find a miracle, leading to mistakes etc…On the rare occasion we did provide it he could be very creative.

He also had his knee heavily strapped while playing for us, maybe he was just playing on one leg??

Agree, he had his moments for us.

also it starkly shows what Tim can do under the right coach...Mary stifled him massively, all of them...

So for those that think MP might be the answer

Yep, he’s a creep and shouldn’t have a role in the game at all.

Hook is under enormous pressure, I think he's a good coach, but should give it away. His cards are marked. Leave with dignity.

Pick up Des while you can. So should we mind you, Titans, Newcastle etc.

Someone like Des with his footy mind, frighteningly competent, a short break will only improve him.

Des was sacked by Manly then sacked by Bulldogs then sacked by Manly again. Every time he has been sacked there has been controversy and turmoil.
You reckon he’d be the right fit for a dragons club in turmoil?
It would be a disaster, he’d be a shocking choice for coach.

I honestly think he got sacked from Manly for reasons not entirely in his control. His lawyers think so too.

The Manly playing group connections were jumping over church fences stabbing people and some of those precious first grade blokes were more ok with that than wearing an rainbow jersey.

They contracted to play footy, not to campaign for some kind of religious extremism. They can do that on their own time.

Thence it’s known that the group were unsettled anyways, the stellar and marquee treated differently than the factory player filth. Players were resentful. This is still the case up there.

Owners running a sneaky campaign of subterfuge. Penn said Des had a “ job for life”. His “job for life” lasted ummm about 4 weeks.

SGI and my club, chaos reigns supreme anyways, and I like Hook and I know ex players who think he is a good coach…but when young players are promised he won’t be there, he’s been significantly undermined.

Potter also springs to mind as well for SGI, he an enormous go with the dogs. He’d be great for any of the bottom 8 sides.

Des sides are often aggressive and have a go when he’s let loose. Being sacked by a club is not a crime because that’s trusting officials judgment and in many instances, they have less of a grip on reality than the coaches, who live and breathe their jobs.

Siebs has made another mistake going to Manly at the moment. They said they liked his humility about his catastrophic Broncos campaign. As we all know, his senior playing group and outside pro Kevvie forces were a disgrace. He worked out (after he’d had time to consider his career) its better to take it hard than die on the hill ( unlike the confused Albert) and he’s been rewarded. He’s walking into a complete dogs breakfast, they need a cull.

Our game runs on emotion and human frailty as much as the footy I suppose. That’s good and bad at once of course.

Just my view.

I doubt that Hook is under much pressure at all. Deals have been done and the Boards plan to have Dean Young as head coach in 2024 is in place; Hook is part of that plan. Otherwise, they would not have extended Hook who was a complete failure.

This is another prime example of self-interest being put ahead of the Club's interests. In my opinion, we should have appointed either Flannagan, Maquire or Hasler to the head coach position. All are superior to Hook and Young when it comes to coaching.

I thought Hook was part of the immediate de-maryfication effort following the end of days for fester. it was a curious appointment I agree, but not meritless.

The best of the rep coaches in the World Cup is Madge Maguire. He is the only one I would target.
Madge-ball, hit ‘em up, get driven backwards, half kicks the ball out on the full.

He’s good for elite squads, but for those of us with a Russian roulette squad, he’s dangerous.

High quality kind of bloke for sure. More integrity in his discarded toe nail clippings than the entire Wests Tigers Board.

He’s just not right coach for any team in the bottom 16.

But as a bloke, a good guy.

Not up to Mary standard, but no human in world history, can reach his lofty standards.

You can ask @Gareth67, Bea Arthur and the eels were nothing before Fester arrived.

Certainly the Kangaroos should rush Mary in to coach us out of the current Samoan crisis.

Silverdale , how are you old son ? As for our ex-maestro I had retired the man gracefully , but now you have gone and brought him up again .

I don’t know if he is still at the Eels , but if so , do you believe that he could possibly had been the reason why they made the Grand Final ? 🤔

Silverdale …, do you believe that he could possibly had been the reason why they made the Grand Final ? 🤔
No, but I would hazard a guess he’s the reason they lost it!

Bea gave him an hour during the captains run and he gave his famous “rookies again” speech.

He said they were “80 minutes away from a grand final” until someone reminded him they’d actually made it.

He got them to imagine the game went on for longer and the playing feild was shorter.

The eels players were struck by his wisdom and sage advice. Some fainted. It all became clear in an instant.

Finally, he put on the mighty jester outfit and they all did a round of his authentic Morris dancing.

Bea came back, but the damage done was fatal and the choke was a sure thing.

Despite this, he remains the most decent and best person humankind has ever produced and ever will.

Im not sure why any person was born after Mary, as we had clearly reached our evolutionary zenith.

As I said once before, when the aliens land and head to the White House to pay for their parking on earth, Mary is the chosen one to plead our case for ongoing survival as a species.
