If you want to talk about poor handling Howland is a great example.

He was absolutely woeful under the high ball.

I rate Rieck...he had a rough season last year, but I think he'll go well

Lets be honest, there weren't too many stars in the Sharks last year, and its hard to shine as a winger on the end of an ordinary backline. Ask Walker, Merrit or Clark

well, i remember mcgoldrick being the standout in just about every appearence he made for easts last year including man of the match in the
shute shield final ...not sure what easts games your were watching next year ....also to GUNNA MATTER who said

''Whenever someone comes on a forum extolling their opinions on who should be in or out of the team I reckon they should have to tell us their level of expertise on the subject''

does the header for this forum not say "got an opinion? share it"'

it was my opinion, i never said i was right ...it seems to me this forum is more about the regulars ....(same as the old official sharks forum) kissing eachothers ar$e than football at cronulla.

....rieck is just brett howland with two feet for hands.

Fair enough. Welcome to the forums, Mrs McGoldrick. I hope your boy has a big year!!

I have to agree that Reick is heart attack material. Just one of those players you hope will turn up to the game. Speed alone will not get the bloke in a first grade team.

Whilst I agree on the thread, I don't agree with the attitude towards the highly regarded elder staesmen on this forum.
& 1200 sharkettes, if knew what the old forum was like, tell us who you were, as my database does not have that username listed.
Gunna matta, I agree with 1200 on opinions. If we had your approach, it would be a ghost forum here. & I havelots of experience at being right, so you must be wrong.
Jimbo. 15 tries..?/ I would say that would have to be the required minimum for a top eight team winger to have after 24 games. slightly more than 1 try every 2 games.

& Mgoldrick has a lot to prove.

You can learn how to catch. You can improve your positional play. You can't teach, learn or buy the ability to run like that.

You've eaither got it or you don't.

I say give him another go this year.

Give him a go in the trials I say to try and find some confidence. I'd be suprised if he makes the first 17 if all outside backs are fit for the start of the season. In 2002 he showed some promising flashes - last year he was just rubbish. But I wouldn't completely give up on him yet, with his pace he only has to get his handling sorted to rieck some havoc.

It's nice to have to worry about who we should be leaving out, rather than who is good enough to play. I like stinky, he needs to perform early this year so he can keep his spot though.

I was going to use his intercept try v Newcastle as Exhibit B, but Garbo is too f*cking useless to put that one up
