Anyway back to Matt Elliot.
I have a fear that there are more players that will be leaving the club before the end of next year.
Lets just hope he makes up for the players we have lost such as: Wesser, Rooney, Priddo etc.
He is gunna need some very good signings and Gavin Cooper isnt a very big one.
Does anyone know how Gavin Cooper goes anyway? I dont really watch him play that often.

Since you live a sheltered childhood i'll provide an explanation.

Gavin Cooper started his career at North Queensland where he stepped on the scene and was tagged for State of Origin football.

He's a very adaptable player. Equally at home at Centre or Backrower. Backrow probably his preferred position.

Will make a handy utility player. If he gets an extended shot in First Grade and manages to overcome some demons...he could well be in the frame for Origin yet again.

That's what they said about Pee Wee Moke...............

A) Cooper doesn't have the same injury problems as Moke had

B) From all reports Moke has been going outstanding for Windsor and could be re-signed and in line for First Grade next year.

I agree. After we got the wooden spoon and into the early rounds of this year I was like everyone else, wondering wtf Elliot was doing. But when the players rallied against Elliot I started wondering because Elliot had been at Canberra for a couple of years and, I think Castleford? before that and there was not any player unrest at those teams and I noted at the time that Petero said "the players had complained and I spoke to the coach". He wasn't saying he complained. I think we may still struggle a little next year, but I think we will improve lots through the year too.

I hope so. Loved watching him play as a junior. Mick have you heard at all how Dean Caldwell is going or if he is still with the club

Well if we do not improve next year this settles it....Elliot has to go.

Unfortunately I fear Dean will be lost.

its such a shame though.

That guy had talent better than Jarrod Mullen...had a superb kicking game...such a shame.

i reckon now the board has made there decision we should look where Elliott was before

Canberra - youngish players with the odd experienced player and made finals for a few yrs in a row

Bradford - he had similar set up and won a few trophy's

IMO i think there is good times ahead and all these players we have now will be with the club for a while and im sure there is plenty of rep stars too who know we could become the next Melbourne storm

We can only hope so. Next year is just that, next year.

There are a few things I am worried about but I am hoping they will be abolished next year.

He can't blame the senior players anymore so he is going to have to step up otherwise the fans and sponsors will make noise again and then the Board will have no other choice but to make him responsible for his decisions.

That's all I ask of my club for next season.

I understand that finances may have played a big part and I understand the Board would be hesitant in just grabbing any coach for the sake of it and end up in a bigger mess. The Board is answerable too, they know that, and I trust that they are doing the best with what they can.

The talk from one of the guys who is a trainer/strapper of the Ball or Flegg sides is one of the trainers is gone and he heard it was MA but wasn't sure as the guy was still at the club yesterday.

well said as we all know the club was told to cut spending of up to 500,000 and that's properly where we couldn't afford to get rid of Elliott however as i said before as time goes by with juniors he had at Canberra he made finals and that's prob as fans we would like to be next yr
