Don’t care to challenge any of the factually correct things I’m writing?
It is not worth the effort because you are using hyperbole and sarcasm and continually not addressing or debating what I have said.

You are a special level of stupid aren't you?
When you are able to show me where in this thread I have stated that the family are scum or that I have defended Lodge's actions or said he shouldn't have been punished, I will address that. When will you address my points?

A bit of obvious sarcasm is beyond you? Surprise surprise (that’s sarcasm again if you’re spiraling out of control trying to understand)

I'm just amazed that CCTV footage didn't magically disappear as they have a tendency to do around Brisbane. Maybe the family also knocked back an offer from Brisbane?

He has not touched ANY alcohol for 2 and 1/2 years - we know this to be FACT because the Bronco's said so
He has taken STEPS to rehabilitate (1 meeting), including alcohol, and anger management - we know this to be FACT because the Bronco's said so
He is presenting education classes to children - we know this to be FACT because the Bronco's said so.

Really don't understand why anyone would doubt what is being said, he is now a cleanskin and should be welcomed back with open arms, disregarding assaulting women, breaking into houses and beating up the residents. But the Bronco's have said he has done his time. Where is that broom and carpet. Nothing to see here.

Where in the article does it say he voiced a threat to the child. According to Ms Fowler they are locked in the bathroom and can hear him rampaging through the apartment and he is incoherent.

Does the threat have to be voiced to matter?

Don't know about you but I would feel pretty threatened in the situation Lodge put them in.

He is a pretty low individual and I would be happy to see our game go tough on guys who are repeat violent offenders against women and children not repeat offending d&*kheads who try and pee in their mouth, take stupid pics with a dog they think are funny or write letters on an arm guard.

The evidence of what he has done to rehabilitate himself was sufficient to satisfy the DA's office, a criminal court judge in New York and the NRL. That being the case, I am sure that the opinion of a penrith fan who has no actual knowledge of the facts, will definitely cause both ths NRL and the broncos to reconsider their position.

The fact that you all keep relating this somehow to the Broncos is just proving my point. Or are you too stupid to realize that?

Still not willing to address any of my points I see.
I’ve addressed all of them, you refuse to address mine. Including: why you say your mate is accepting responsibility when he didn’t even bother to attend the civil trial, send lawyers or appeal the decision? Why you victim bash by saying the victims are in it for the money, when they have demonstrated their morals and courage by coming to the aid of strangers? Why you champion one part of the US legal system in saying it was right Lodge avoided jail time, and in the next breath lament the other part of the process which allowed him to be sued?

Mate, I completely agree with what you wrote. They were well entitled to feel terrified and threatened. My comment re the threats was in response to a coupkke of other posters saying there was a verbal threat to kill the child.

You forgot to add

“It was then he tried to punch his way through a bathroom door where Ms Fowler and her son were hiding”

I’m not sure who is dumber... him, or you for sticking up for him.

At this moment I’m leaning towards you.

The DA were happy to go with lesser charges to save the expense of a trial and locking the scum up when they could just ship him back to where he came from.

Sound familiar cause we pretty much hear the same thing with arab and Africa youth crime here just that they did it.

Why the NRL let him back in is beyond me.

As to relating it to the broncos I couldn't give a rats which club took him on, Id feel the same about any club that took him on.

Can you then explain why Lodge is in a different category to Packer, Avua'a or any of the others?

He is no mate of mine. I don't know why he did not attend the civil trial. It maybe the case that he had no money to afford lawyers given that he incurred apparently $100,000 in costs in the criminal proceeding which he borrowed from his parents. It could be that he had legal advice to not contest it, I don't know.

Me saying they are all about the money is a fact. It is not a value judgment, you have taken it that way. You all seem to be failing to address that the family is happy for him to be back playing NRL level so he can earn the money. His lawyer also suggested that he go and play french rugby to get a big contract. The inference I draw from that is that they are interested in getting the full quantum of their compensation, and good on them. The reality is that unless they can get that judgment enforced in Australia, they are going to have difficulties.

If the incident happened to me, I would most definitely be pursuing compensation and trying to get as much as I could. In my view, what was awarded was excessive in the circumstances, but that is my opinion and it is premised on what would be awarded over here for a similar incident.

I have put forward reasons for questioning the size of the award, if you do not agree with them that is your right.

What is your position Eion? Is it that it is okay for Packer and all of the others to be welcomed back to the game and not Lodge? Or are you of the belief that if you commit a serious offence that is it you are gone for all time?

Yep the us were very happy to ship him back to where he came from with a sweetheart deal. Our problem now.
