People need to forget about comparing the severity of their offenses. Greenberg said they assess all of these things by the same standard.

1. What have they been doing since the indiscretion. Counseling etc.
2. Has to be long term progress. Years not months.
3. What are they doing going forward. Has to be some plan in place.

They have to have a set of rules to judge this stuff on and not allowing people into the game because the media can stir up some outrage isn't it. I prefer that the NRL are working with professional psychologist etc. and making sure the player meets certaun criteria and they do all the right things going forward.

The point is, there are some offences that even a one off should see expelled from the game. For me, Packer and Lodge are in that boat.

Even if I can cop him playing, I find it very difficult to accept the nrl didn’t make it a condition of playing that a portion of his wage is set aside to pay his victims.
