U were at the pilot, everyone else wasn't.

And this is meant to be a light-hearted entertainment program mixed with league, not a talkfootyfootyfooty show. I'm ready to judge it based on that, not on my disappointment at the lack of footy discussed - that is not what the program is about.
I too wish the footy show talked more footy and less Brohman in a leotard, but it isn't necessarily as bad as everyone makes out IMO... it is just that there is an across the board disappointment at the lack of footytalk.
Still don't think it deserved all those Logies though :lol: :lol: The AFL Thurs nite show is soo much better!

Sorry Hellsy, I totally disagree. They take themselves way too seriously, this is evident in the fact that when they try and be funny they seem awkward and if anyone is the brunt of a joke, they take it personally, ark up and crack the sh#ts.

The NRL boys on the other hand seem much more grounded, they can have a laugh at themselves (without taking it to heart) and others, and they can also talk some serious footy. The difference is that they don't remove their personalities when they're talking footy (which I think makes them more believable and interesting to watch), unlike the AFL boys who seem too clinical; merely clones of one another.

The thing is that if someone wears their personality on their sleave, they make themselves vulnerable to peoples' judgements and mockery. That unfortunately is the cost of being true to oneself, and is an admirable quality whether we like them or not.

I quite liked Matty's humour in the Sunday Footy Show environment - and was hoping that his show would be of the same vein.... When he's talking about footy, and throwing in a few jokes here and there, he's hilarious!

Except now we are going to get borderline offensive skits that ever so slightly involve Rugby League ....

I can live with the light 'enterainment' that both shows will have, We've got the Sunday footy show and the sunday roast for a show thats entirely dedicated to league to look forward to. I think if the jokes were better on the footy show then there wouldnt be as much uproar.

i'll watch it tonight and if it's any good then i won't be staying up all night to the footy show on 9. It never finishes before 11:25pm, it's just too late considering the show is pre-recorded.

To each his/her own of course. But based on everyone's whinges that they want more footy talked about and less light entertainment.... they AFL one is better for that.
It just depends what you are after in a program.... I like both

Well.. I'm liking this show alot.
My flatmate is a casual league fan but really doesn't like the Ch9 footy show... she buggers off to her room quick smart!
But she is currently sitting here and laughing with me and has said 'I really like this show, is it going to be on every week?" and was very pleased when I said "At this stage... yes"
