I can't rave about his attacking game just based on metres.

He almost takes too many hit ups really. His play the balls are slow, he is incredibly upright in the tackle so that the wrestle goes for a long time, and he didnt seem to really penetrate or get over the ad line to any great degree.

He often takes the fourth in attack and the length of the wrestle and the slow play the ball puts enormous pressure on the playmakers.

His defence was awesome and he was strong in attack but I think he's maybe covering a lack of punch from his fellow back rowers maybe

We not only need our players to offload, but we also need them to run decoys. That is the only way we can be effective.

TBH, it surprises me that we don't have decoy runners, and support runners and set moves, as Melbourne base their game on these tactics

Decoy runners and set plays are for team like Dragons, Storm, Tigers. We don't need such carry on when all we do is one out hit ups.

I thought there were a couple of attempts at decoy runs last night but very poorly executed and the first receivers didn't seem to understand they were just decoy runners. Didn't we knock on at one stage from a stupid inside pass to a decoy runner who wasn't expecting it?

Ofcourse he wasnt offloading last ngiht. Players had trouble catching the ball, let alone holding it and then worrying about an offload. Wait till a dry track before saying things like he should offload, i thought for the conditions Hindy played well and did exactly what we needed. Why push things in the wet??

Not sure as I'm in Fiji and haven't watched the game.

I'm one of the merkins who's been calling for Hindy to retire at the end of the year but I have to say he was pretty impressive last night.

Two things about Hindy -

I dont know why he is hitting it up on the 4th tackle. He did that 3 or 4 times the other night and it is a waste. Maybe Sandow is to blame but it should not happen. Gallen does the the same thing at the sharks and it really halts the momentum.

Secondly, I dont know why we dont just name Hindy at Prop - that is what he is these days. That would allow us to pick two running second rowers - say Lasalo and Horo with Maitua at lock. The only problem is that we dont have any decent running second rowers so it kind of makes my argument redundant but you see where I am coming from.

Because Hindy makes 15 runs over 80 minutes of footy. If he was named at prop he would have to make 15 runs in only 40-50 minutes, and wouldn't be able to do as much tackling, which is what he's good at.

Surely it can't be part of the plan, but it hapens so much that it seems like they're coached to do it. Even when we're in the opponents 20 mtr line he still hits it up on the 4th, makes very little impact and generally it slows the play down so we're on the back foot for the next tackle.

Does my head in....

The fourth tackle seems to be rarely used as an attacking play now. Often it's just a forward hits it up so the half and the backs can be ready for the kick next play.

Of course they are coached to do it. If the halves wanted the ball on the 4th, they would get it.

I see.... it's worked a real treat for us hasn't it?

It does my head in as well.
Hindy, please stay away from the 4th tackle hit up when we are attacking our opponents line. Give the f**king pill to Sandow for crying out loud.

Hindy's game is more like a prop we are really lacking attacking 2nd rowers and a ball playing lock.
