Congrats Shaun.

On a more sombre, pessimistic note. Imagine if the doggies bust us a new one? What then?

Earlier this season victories over NQ and then Tigs are eerily similar to the Storm and Raiders victories/ combination. What happened after Tigs was awful.

This weekend is a massive test for the boys, Macfadden and our season. Can't wait.

I guess the main difference is that when we played the Sharks, unlike the Dogs...we hadn't played them already.
The Sharks were coming off the Fifita to the dogs thing, and they had been belted by another team ( I forget who just now ) and were in a state of disgrace.

McFadden I imagine will try to replicate the conditions of the last Dog game.

If Shaun Johnson makes his conversions we win that one ( four try's to three )

The other thing McFadden will be counting on is Ben Mutts staying out there ( his working over of Reynolds was too much for their Left edge to cope with...the Chad will have to step up and do what Tommy did ).

Past Warriors dogs games have been fairly evenly matched up front....however their back three in the scrum would easily over power Todd Lowrie, Elijah Taylor, and Mannering.

Louisi , Seb , Matulino , and Mannering at Lock is a very different look and matches the dogs (then goes one better with Matulino).

Rapira's a big loss , we're less assured of matching the Dogs in grind footy...I suspect that is why Gub is 18th man....good chance Locke won't play.

Our three quarter line with Hurrell about to give the dogs 80 minutes is another edge.

McFaddens last Bulldog template was good enough to beat them. I think we go in as slight favorites in this one.

Andrew Voss commented on Radiolivesport ( you can listen to their Audio highlights Voss and Lillyman are both worth tuning into todays list ) that it was good to see McFadden had Matangi , Locke and Mateo doing shuttle runs on the field after the game.

It would be good if fans keep an eye on that development , those three had low minutes in the game , in future it would be good to know if it is used for performance related stuff as well.

Ben Matulino playing eighty minutes was a good move by McFadden , that can only be good for Bens fitness.

So Far McFadden seems to be tapping into Lousi's inner bad man, having a look at the replay , it's surprising how many violent hits he put on people, and the step up in hard running.
Probably the best Shot was on Shillington ( joint effort with the new Jeremy Smith young Ikahihifo ).

Those two young players are really thriving , In the Dragons game the commentators were all agog for Ikahihifo's work rate and the violence of his hits.

New players , realistic replacements for more experienced people who may or may not show up every week.

Lousi gets an arm free a lot , he has really good discipline in terms of not letting those balls go ( he had one stuff up V the Eels , seems to have snapped out of it ).

Lousi has been slow to earn street cred from fans ( not using his size ) but he's building to something.

Mark Richardson is a moron.

Understatement of the year.
Cant stand him, which is a shame because in the morning Muls is always good to listen to, and generally they'll have either Angus or Guy as the producer an they can spin a good yarn (not that Brad though)

I'd love to see Rigga get into the ring in a Watto/Ryder type of match, where you know he'll get pummeled (in a controlled environment of course)

Well Mark has to take the ring this year at fight for life, to live up to his promise of getting in there if Team NZ lost the Cup race.

Not too fond of anyone on the morning segments personally, but f**k me none of them are as annoying as Watson.

Drive home from work makes for much better listening.

Goes without saying D'Arcy is the best one to listen to. Miles was up there, rather miffed when he left.
Watto is the only one that actually makes me change station.
I don't change when Rigga is on simply because of Mulls but he sure ticks me off more often than not (Rigga that is).

They have some merkins on Radio sport :

Rigger , Crugby say's it all....the new Deaker.

Watson.....Mt Albert High and Triathalon someone stop that man before he gets a woody over Warrior salacious gossip.

Kent Johns " Warriors fans and their NRL reffing conspiracies "

Veitch is on a total vengeance mission with his ex friends in Rugby league and his born again student of Murray Deakers philosophies.

Miles Davis was good value , an out and out Dragons fan and the best of the lot of them.

RadioLivesport have good league shows with Nathan Rawiri and Monty Betham.

I like how they have the "Crugby Hour" despite the fact that Rugby, and Cricket come Cricket season, dominates Radio Sport anyway.

Unless something negative comes up with regards to League, then it's time to yarn about League all day.

The only time Watson isn't a complete f**kwit is when he's wanking on about some sport I couldn't care less about anyway. No disrespect intended to people intro triathlons or whatever.

Mark - clueless who thinks highly of himself.
Mulligan - i like him, has a bit of joke around and he also likes the NBA (not that Mark lets him talk about it...)
Devlin - haven't listened to him yet...
Johns - i like his show because its talk back orientated and he's a league fan
D'arcy - good value, I like him, big warriors fan
Veitchy - I do like Veitchy covers lots of sports and gets involved with his listeners on facebook.
Watson - Dont mind him. Has the abillity to turn you against him though but he's a straight shooter at least.

Remember when radio sport was a great station? I remember growing up listening to it as a mad cricket fan... because that is what it was, a cricket broadcasting station. You'd get the Shell Cup, Shell Trophy, and internationals all live ball by ball. It'd be great when New Zealand were touring and you could listen to it live at any time. Great station in its hey day.

I used to live on Radio Sport , Devlin in his first incarnation was my favorite Radio voice till he went silly.

A couple of things that I remember following them from the early days.....is when Telfer got the league hour.....

He used to sound like he had been insulted in some way by having to do the Tuesday morning spot with Mac.

Telfer used to love saying " of course we will talk with ( insert Union Name ) before we talk about 'that other code'

As time went by , Telfer became informed about the NRL whether he wanted that or not. three years later he was taking his NRL reporting quite seriously , even if he had the compulsory rugby first programming habit....he became fairly knowledgeable about the NRL.

Never thought I'd see the day someone Like Telfer would pride themselves on knowing bits about Rugby league LOL.

The other Radio sport Memory I cherish.....was being on a hunt in the Naki back Blocks....tuning into the World cup final and hearing ABC 'guest commentator Alan Mac Scream ' Austrialia you are dead and buried ' .....silence from Craig and Warren the Wok Ryan et al .......Legend.

Yeah funny how Telfer outlasted Devlin till the strokes got the better of him. I see they traded places 'NZ's most senior radio broadcaster' does a spot on Livesport.

Bit of blood there , I heard a talk back caller complaining about Brendon leaving one time , the hosts acknowledged Telfers pedigree but added ' you have to work with him'
..........................................................

In other news : Rumor that the Warriors have signed young Wing Center Mathew Allwood from the Raiders ( the kid that got done by Ben Matulino on the weekend for that opening try ).

Still a rumor at this stage , apparently announced on Aussie radio , can anyone confirm ?

I see nothing on the 2GB site that reported the signing.....Alwood was in negotiations with the Raiders for having his contract extended.

Mark - Worst of the lot, arrogant, thinks he's hilarious and doesn't actually know much about sport.
Mulligan - Feel sorry for him, he's actually ok but is constantly ruined by Mark interfering.
Devlin - Nice to see him back, Telfer was amusing and knew his stuff but went off on battles too much
Johns - Good easy listening, nothing silly from him
D'arcy - The best by a mile, his wit and chemistry with Goran is awesome and he knows his stuff inside out.
Veitchy - He's ok when he's not creating a false bandwagon and stirring people up.
Watson - I don't mind him as much as Rigger, but he does overdo it and has that whiny voice.

Never understood why Miles got the chop. Funny, very very knowledgeable, decent interviewer and prepared to listen to any opinion. But then again he's not an inflammatory idiot like Watson who gets people ringing up/texting to abuse him, which is how radio hosts are now judged.

Ahhh, nostalgia. If there was no play involving a New Zealand side they'd switch to the ABC in Australia. We'd get all those static sound waves (if that's the correct term) as Lillee (and the 'Lillee' chant) would be charging in at the MCG...it was like an old fashioned footy crowd back then at the cricket.

A vocal, unruly drunken mob...or at least significant parts of the crowd were.

That wasn't radio sport but it was sports round up on the old YC / YA NETWORK.

Tune into Aucklands 1476 AM for Ian Smith, Montz and Nathan .... FAR better than radio sports lame breakfast programme. Telfer is there too.
